I just got my Jamma PCB of Alcon yesterday & fired it up today. Get a screen saying: Ram Working and it just hangs there never proceeding with the further checklist items to boot up to the main title screen. (Alcon is constructed as a two-layered PCB set connected by two wire harness looms -- seems typical of such mid-1980's Jamma PCBs back in the day. some of the surface mounted IC chips are marked with stamp date bearing the year "1982" -- WTF!?)
Any helpful suggestions?
This is the 1986 Taito of America version of Alcon PCB by the way.
And what are the dipswitch settings for this particular PCB anyways? (Alcon has two dip switch banks btw.)
Thank you for your time...

For yojo!,
Yes, I checked out the voltage and you're "right on the money" with the 5.15v setting...thanks a lot! It seems those old PCB relics of the mid-'80s can get bitchy & tempermental (just like women, right?) if not getting enough juice from the 5v line of the PSU. Should treat them both with utmost care and undying respect... ^_~
Wow, Alcon sure is an "oldie but goodie" arcade shmup title -- not bad for a 21+ year old PCB.
Still can't believe how good the Alcon BGM tunes sound compare the crappy ass-shit BGM tunes coming from the ol' Darwin 4078 PCB -- must be better installed sound chips overall or better equipment to create/render them, hmmm? ^_~
And do you know what the dipswitch settings would be for Alcon?

Slapfight is my favorite game of all times. Make sure to set it to hardest setting to appreciate it to the fullest.

For yojo!,
Thanks for the tip to try out Alcon on the hardest difficulty setting...will do, then. ^_~
Mucho kudos for the link to d/l the Alcon manual. Yojo!, you're ace when it comes to those cool retro '80s shmup PCBs. Yeah, all I got was just a "barebones" Alcon PCB -- nothing else extra included..... ^_~
Sure, I've played many arcade game titles back in the day but never got the chance to play Alcon/Slap Fight! PCB until today...where have I been all those years not having tried it out? Lol.... ^_~
Thanks again...
