#62 Explosive Breaker (Kaneko, 1992)

Raiden-Toaplan-Gradius-Star Soldier-etc. heaping slop of game. Not even made from the best elements of those games. Gigantic (Ugly) helicopters and stealth bombers and aircraft carriers appearing in the middle of space. A secondary weapon that looks like fireworks. Level theme that wouldn't sound out of place in a Super Mario Brothers. I'm not trying to make the game sound appealing or anything, these were just the only three things worth noting.

Ghost Pilots
I paid $30 for BRAND NEW Ghost Pilots about 2½ years ago. How do I get it new? Who the F would buy this game. I am sure there are plenty of these around as this game cannot possibly sell. Know the saying a sucker is born every day. I was sucker when I buy Ghost Pilots
This one time my friend and I played this game for 12 hours? We start at dusk and we still play at dawn and have yet to reach the end

#61 Black Heart (UPL, 1991)

A dark, but semi-cute fantasy shooter. The first boss and most bosses after that look nice. I was enjoying it, but then by stage four or so you keep getting the same enemies over and over again, the same cute music while there are piles of skulls in the background... the same bouncing or dropping platforms with swords embedded in them. Over and over. The dragon you are riding acts as a huge shield for the bullet clutter happening below, but this is one of those games where you will keep losing lives to clunky enemy sprites and the general mess regardless. Not helping is the only non-shooting command (dragon fire) obstructing the view. By stage 8 or so I couldn't even bear to finish credit-feeding through it to see the story end. :(

#60 Metal Black (Taito, 1991)

This game manages to take one of the two things that made G. Darius occasionally great, giant laser battling, and makes it incredibly lame. These stages suck: little detritus that collects on your ship to make it slower, bubbles that temporarily entrap you to seemingly no adverse effect - the attacks seem random and pointless, even compared to the other 70 games.

Bonus stages:

Long awaited first Dooyong.
#58 Blue Hawk (Dooyong, 1993)

They forgot the challenge. If you're looking to find a game to 1CC on your first credit, this may be the game. I survived well beyond my usual first credit average (stage 2). I think they were relying on manual rapidfire to provide the challenge. I don't think Dooyong's games are bad as much as they are mediocre, generic and (for the most part) easy.
You can't see it, but in the third screen bullets spontaneously appear out of the rubble.
