Re: help me find this shoot em up
An arcade coin-op upright with said mystery shmup title -- very vague description given...could you elaborate a little bit more? ^_~nomis7188 wrote:can anyone help me find a old shoot em up cant remember what its called .its an arcade machine from early 90's i can remember you were a space ship and collected power ups one which turned you into a robot another changed you back to spaceship vertical and horizontal scrolling really cool graphics on last boss you get a whole screen full of power ups
Sounds like it could be the first "Super Fortress Macross" arcade shmup title from Banpresto circa 1992. It had cool anime cut scenes shown between stages. It was distributed in the USA back during that timeframe. By grabbing certain power-up icons, your Variable Fighter (jet mode with variable swept wings functionality) could turn into Gerwalk mode (half jet/robot mode) and upon further icon collecting, could transform into Battloid mode (full humanoid slave unit mode).
By getting the cool flashing "A" icon, your Battloid could transform into an "Armored Valkyire" Battloid with GBP functionality. But SDF-Macross PCB was only released as a vertical side-scrolling shmup and never did have any horizontal side-scrolling stages at all...
This particular Macross PCB seems to have been based on the Macross 1984 anime film titled: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love ^_~
Could this be the one that you played back in the early 1990's?

Could be ? The only thing I remember about dogyuun is that it had a robot power up where you become a huge robot and all you could do is punch , could be wrong on that though !incognoscente wrote:Dogyuun ?
