Well, only REZ HD would have been enough to get my head turned...Specineff wrote:Such great is the joy of these announcements, that it compelled to the creation of three posts about them.
Now if only they create some additional music/graphs/levels for this it would tempt me into getting a 360... The fact that it´ll probably download only is off/putting though.
Whatever console gets Rez 2 will surely get my money though...

Visual quality of DC (VGA) version + extraoptions from the gamecube port = definite versionJJG wrote:I can't see Ikaruga HD looking that much better than it does on DC with a tated CRT. This is really great news though, I mean the other day there was a thread where people were wondering which console would be the new one for shmups. I think we'll see what happens but Omega 5 is a really good sign.

Kotaku.com makes a good point about Omega Five.
"As blank Dreamcast disc supplies begin to dwindle, could Xbox Live Arcade become a new haven for scrolling-shooter fans?"
http://kotaku.com/gaming/shmup/omega-fi ... 298972.php
This does seem a more likely alternative to the PS2 and definitely a cheaper one. I for one see this as the beginning of the end of material media. The days of buying games on CD/DVD/etc, in cases are numbered. And what's next?...but the eventual merging/marrying of console and pc.
Sorry...got off on a rant. Happens when i haven't slept for awhile

not actually true - you have to pay MS for QA on XBLA, it's not cheap. at all.Sundance wrote:Kotaku.com makes a good point about Omega Five.

XBL is the best online console service and is cheap to me.... then again I'm a big boy now with a job.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Cheap? You know that Microsoft is the ONLY game console to charge money for online service? PC gamers have had free online play for years with just as much functionality. The Wii and PS3 don't charge for online service. What exactly are you paying them for? To host content on the xbox life marketplace? Steam on the PC does the exact same thing, Valve hosts content, with fast download rates, and it's free.Strider77 wrote:XBL is the best online console service and is cheap to me.... then again I'm a big boy now with a job.
Sorry for the rant, but I just think it's ridiculous. I don't understand why people put up with it.

It was reported previously that Rez would utilize a 2nd controller as a TranceVibrator, but no one has actually confirmed this.theevilfunkster wrote:

If anyone is playing RezHD could you provide confirmation that a 2nd controller actually provides complementary vibration function - not redundant to the first controller, but actually a completely different vibration scheme like the TranceVibrator?

I've tried it with a second controller but you can use up to 3 extra pads. The vibration of the second controller is quite different to what the main pad does and it's quite an experience, I'm almost tempted to buy a couple more padsKoa Zo wrote:It was reported previously that Rez would utilize a 2nd controller as a TranceVibrator, but no one has actually confirmed this.theevilfunkster wrote:

The default settings in the game have the vibration and the 5.1 turned off, so make sure to go through the options before playing.

What?
Also, is THE going to come out in the US? I have it on Dreamcast, but it would virtually be a free 200 achievement points for me.

Um, just to clear up some misconceptions you seem to have:
1. You only pay for an Xbox Live GOLD membership. With Gold, you can play games online and get free content a couple of weeks before other people. Since Microsoft has their own servers for games, they charge. Really, its not too bad paying $50 for a year and getting a great service like that. Its not like wasting $12+ a month on some shitty paint drying sim, I mean, MMORPG.
2. You don't have to have Gold to access the marketplace. You can download whatever you want with Silver, which is free.
And honestly, you get what you pay for. Xbox Live is far superior to the Wii and PS3s online gaming.

You have to milk the shit out of the first boss to get it. When I was playing I couldn't quite pull it off right (my timing sucked on the last form), but if I'd stuck with the game I could have learned it.jp wrote:zakk wrote:I like how the HS achievement for Trigger Heart is a score that is realistic for the first stage of the game...

The video on super-play is 130M after stage 1. I think I had one that was closer to 200M but it got eaten in a horrible disk failure.

Wow... so the scoring in THE is horribly broken.
Well that sucks.

bla bla bla.... I get a great online matchups with no lag for the most part. most games have online play, then there is a shitload of live titles that are worth downloading. the package as a whole is great. not to mention the whole interface is incredibly well done and intuitive.Cheap? I don't use it at all on the PS3 or Wii.
