The prettiest death metal album?

Is there any good synthpop out there? I only like one song off this Modern English album and even that one is sorta stupid. Like they don't have any talent, they just found out that changing from C to F and back sounds good

I went to a local show last night and got a CD at the door. Not exactly earth shattering, but considering I wasn't aware of the free stuff I was pretty pleased. It made those ten dollars change hands easier. I've been listening to it quite a bit today. It's upbeat enough to keep me from hitting my computer screen after a credit of VP1.

I liked the new(er) Junior Boys record. I guess that falls under the synthpop catagory.

Listening to:

the new Black Lips LP
Patton Oswald - werewolves and lollipops (fucking hilarious)
the new Pinback album sounds just like the old one

I think with this one I lost all interest in Pinback unfortunately. I wish the Rob Crow solo album that came out this year was better.

I've been wanting to get a Polysics album for a while but I don't have any money and I can't find any downloads. It is my current favorite album.

I am in love with Joe Satriani's music.
We have this independent music store that sells used CDs at good prices, so I went in there, and browsed through the rock CDs, and happen to stumble upon some albums made by this guy. So I picked up Engines of Creation, demoed it, and brought it because I liked it. It's all instrumental stuff that would fit perfectly in videogames.

People who played GT4 might have heard of a track called "Summer Song." He did that piece. Funny how a boring racing game made me discover an artst I've never heard of before!

Joe Satriani is an awesome virtuosso Guitar player who taught Alex Skolnick (Testament), Kirk Hammett (Metallica), and Steve Vai .He is not better than Yngwie Malmsteen , but atleast he is not a better jerk than Yngwie. His best album is Surfing with the Alien which I listen to regulary .Fatcobra , His stuff would be perfect for Video games !

You had to ask this question. Of course there is, at least I consider it good. I have no idea what you would like though. Off the top of my head, Eurythmics - Touch is pretty tuneful and full of soulful singing. New Order - Substance has a lot of variety. If you like harder stuff try Front 242. I thought I was the only one who liked gay synthpop music though. If you are used to Hatebreed this is obviously not going to do it for you.

I also gotta mention Purple Rain is one of my all-time faves and rocks surprisingly hard.

Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steady (discovered a new song I like on this. 'lipstick')
Qui - Love's Miracle
Figurines - Skeleton
Shout Out Louds - Our Ill Wills (I think I'm the only one of us who will be able to withstand the cheese)
Plimsouls - Plus
Eric's Trip - Purple Blue
Velocity Girl - Simpatico!

Need more Buzzcawks

edit - Satriani is very skilt but I don't like much of his music, except for 'turkey man' which people seem to get a kick out of when you play the intro riff

I can easily go from listening to ultra fruity and embarassing (like Morrisey or something  ) to Eyehategod, Infest, Mastodon without batting an eye. Most people who post on this thread seem to favor the heavier sounds but everyone seems to be very open minded for the most part.

I will also throw out New Orders Substance as a synthpop classic. It is long overdue for a remastering but I still find myself coming back to this collection more than their full length albums.

Currently listening to:

Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam despite a girl I know describing their latest as "a Raffi record on crack" I think it might be their best release yet.

For the record, I don't think anyone here is used to "Hatebreed". :P

Looking forward to it. Hopefully it'll make up for the goatrape that was Dinosaur Jr's Sept 5th appearance

Seriously they need to stop doing tv, they always sound like shit

I like Dinosaur Jr. Not for everyone of course considering J's voice. I have been playing Green Mind quite a bit lately too actually. How is their new album?

That does seem to be the majority opinion these days. I like Beat Happening a little too, and those vocals are worse, so I guess I have high tolerance for bad production and singing
How is their new album?
My contrarian nature makes me hate to admit this, but they still haven't topped Living All Over Me. Beyond is maybe 2nd best, thoe
