I was always under the impression that Batsugun was considered by a fair number of people to be the first manic shooter. I mean, it's right there in the Wikipedia page, so case closed.

Aren't these the kinds of threads that pop up all the time? No one is going to agree on a first because the term manic is totally up for speculation. Like somebody said, Garegga was simply the first one that popped into the head of the guy they interviewed. They weren't claiming any facts there. It was the first one he could remember that he played.
