This doesn´t seem to work either for me... :(
Still missing some files (though less than before it seems).

I call it quits today and will try some more tomorrow I suppose.
Would be kinda silly to have voted for a game I can´t get to work, while RFJet seems to work flawlessly here...

Gotta get me some sleep now...
Well you also need to have the right romsets. :) I'll send you a PM.

I have spent an hour on Viper

Where is the toothpaste laser? I thought that was the whole point of the Raiden games

Where is my bomb? I don't want to dangle an orange off the front of my ship

Can I just play twinbee again and submit my score for that?

love and kisses,
Unhappy Matt :(

Seeing as how I joined this tournament MAINLY to play games I normally wouldn't have put much time into... Well... Viper Phase 1 DEFINITELY fits that bill ^_^ RFJ is a game I might actually play on my own at some point. Guess I can't say I'm TOO disappointed. We'll see if those sentiments hold true after a few hours of VP1, or if I'll be editing my post to contain mostly "!#$^!$&%$&*!#@^!%#$%" and little else.

Good luck and... errr... have fun? Hahaha

You know, it's not even the 100% bonus thing that's turning me off of VP1. No, what's getting me is the full sprite hitbox coupled with a speed that makes a snail look like it could break the sound barrier at any second. Seriously, the Wild Snail doesn't even move this slow!

So, my current experience with this game.....

Well, when I first looked at this thread (briefly) earlier, I saw the post count at the top and thought "Ok, it's Jet we're playing".

Played that for a bit. I was having some fun with it, really; I'll end up playing that more later.

Then I realized.... wait, I didnt actually READ the thread..... better make sure.....

And then all that nonsense causing Viper to be picked. Downloading that, realizing I'd barely played the arcade version.......

And now Im remembering WHY I barely played the arcade one.

Playing this game for survival isnt bad, kinda nice actually.

But that SCORING system..... Yuck.

I cant do memory-based scoring systems whatsoever anyway..... games like that, I strictly play for survival (like DoDonPachi, I always just say, screw the damn comboing)

And this game seems like you have to memorize the stages, to get the annoying 100%.

Im not even gonna ATTEMPT that. I'll just play for survival (when I feel like it) and see what score comes out of it later in the week.

Sorry, guess Im not that useful in this tourney here, not with the games we've done so far anyway.

Plus side, it DID however make me try out Raiden Fighters Jet, which I'd never played before, and now definitely will play more of. That whole medal-sucking thing is kinda neat, and very satisfying when you get that huge one completed. Also, fun weapons. And SO MANY PLANES.

Bah, stupid scoring systems......

Back to the safer confines of Death Label for me........

You don't have to memorize everything, just most of it.

You are on Team Loser, so I guess your teammates already expected something like that :)

My roms of Viper Phase 1 have all sorts of graphical distortions to them that make them completely unplayable. I've tried different romsets from different sites, and I uploaded the Seibu NVram package into my folder. I am using MAME32FX 0.92. I am going to try to use an older version to see if that works, but any other suggestions would be welcome.

The graphics weren't decrypted until .93, so that would be the problem.

If you don't stop picking on Quaid he's going to give you the umbrella and open it. :(

If you know what I mean.
