SDLMame should run fine on a intel mac, but you might have to dig around for some binaries.ayuh wrote:does anyone know of a mac intel version of mame that will play RFJ somewhat ok? on Mame OS X the sound is just buzzing and the framerate is garbaaaage
I might be able to compile it if there's nothing out there, let me poke around later.

sup.
I did want US version for VP1 as it was said there were no differences at all besides loops. Since the looping was limited and trimmed stages, I thought adding that would be more interesting and serve as a slight cushion against the 100% kill rate frustration we're about to have. The problem was I wasn't quite sure about the proper notation to specify New and US at the same time. Even though it seemed contradictory, our own forum hiscore board had New and US lobbed together and there weren't complaints, so I went with that thinking it was proper and understood.
Anyway, it doesn't matter now.
Viper Phase 1 New Japan version will be used.
If BM doesn't get there first, can any mod change "Viper Phase 1 (US/New)" in my poll to read as "Viper Phase 1 (Japan New)"
Thanks.

As for teh dramaz,
Last year I had to be an asshat to uphold the voting rules I made even though it was painstakingly obvious no intention of manipulating the vote was present. All my rules were doing were catching people who wanted to make their posts clearer instead of people who were changing their votes later in the voting period.
Since we're laid-back about how to accept scores, it makes sense to apply common sense and context-interpretation to the voting. So at the beginning of this tourney I added this:
The vote counts. Don't edit anymore.
Case Closed
Yeah, I've been gone so I didn't get a chance to field this. Sorry about the extra work, Edge. Since you made a ruling many pages ago, I'm changing the listings to honor it.Edge wrote:Ok, posting again to clarify if my edit gets overlooked.
"I think DJI actually wanted to type "Japan/New" version, which I'd think we should go for. THIS IS NOT A VOTE!"
So, Viper Phase 1 (Japan / New).

Having said that, I see this 2 days before deadline...I wrote:*NEW* -Before disqualifying a vote that technically breaks the rules above, I will evaluate the post and date of edit for context. If I feel the change was an honest correction and not close enough to deadline to affect final tallies, I reserve the right to include that vote in the final tally.

I'm sure there's some Saturn or PSX port of Viper Phase 1 that doesn't have autofire that we have to handicap every MAME player to.Shatterhand wrote:Give me that rate of Auto-Fire and I can do it too.g19 wrote:Thanks. 1.46 million on stage 1 is the marker then! With a lot of the better players being vocal about RFJ even before the vote started it automatically warded the human competitors off it. Same as last time with Sexy/Yahho!. RFJ may well be 10 times the game that VP1 is, but if people see the likes of yourself, Rob etc etc voting for it then the reaction is to vote for whichever game is the 'furthest' away from it, ie Raiden/Raiden-in-Space.Icarus wrote:But anyway, throwing a vote in for Raiden Fighters Jet, just in case.
It may not make for the most enjoyable play but it'll at least keep the scoring relatively tight, as was the case last week. Or maybe it's just me
