Looking for PS2 controller adapter(or pad) for GC

Post by evil_ash_xero »

Can anyone help me find a RELIABLE adapter for PS2 pads for GameCube, or a PS2 style pad for the GC? With a better pad than the regular PS2 ones, of course(like the Logitech pads).

Thanks.

A few years back, Gamestop used to sell such a Gemini produced Gamecube controller convertor so you could use your PS2 based game controllers on it -- and as a bonus, one could even use this same controller convertor with the Xbox console as well. It retailed at $19.99 USD back in the day..... ^_~

Quick question for those of you who have used these adapters: are there different versions of the GC that respond differently to them? I know it sounds strange, but for a long time I was trying to get my HRAP to work with my GC and I went through three different adapters, all of which had been confirmed by others to work with digital joysticks. None of them did for me, and I tried my Namco sticks as well. The adapters weren't defective, either, as they did work with Dual Shock 2's. Any thoughts?

To the OP: if I don't find a solution here and you're still looking, PM me. Obviously these things will be more useful to you than me. :)

Well, I ordered one from Amazon, that was well liked by the folks there. If it doesn't work with my Logitech, i'll talk to you about your adapters.

I got two HRAPs when they were first produced, one of them doesn’t work with adapters but the other one does. No idea why, though.
The problem you’re having though could be lack of Dual Shock compatibility from the Arcade sticks you’ve tried. You could try the Hori Fighting Stick 2, which should work fine, but it’s crap.

probably has to do with the pcb. sometimes the adapters can be fickle with certain pcbs.
