Raiden 2 Tate

So my friends and I decided to tate our TV and play some shmups. We played some Ikaruga, some ShikiII, and some Raiden III. I diug up my old copy of Raiden project, and it offered a tate mode, but there is no way to change the directional controls to match the TATED tv. At least not from what I could see. Is there something I am missing? I am dying to play Raiden 2 tated.

I think at Gamefaqs there is a gameshark code for this. Its a bug in the game, the devcos didnt put a TATE control system in the game. The JP version does have TATE controls, I assume youve got the US version.

No, that's a PITA to play with, trust me.

What you do is get a PS-X-Change or some other cheat disk or device (Goldfinger should work too if you have an old PS with parallel port).

Enter this code:

80050BAC 0003

When you start up the game, don't go to the screen settings. Save your settings on your memory card.

From now on you should be able to play in true tate mode without the cheat disk.

What the code actually does is force the screen settings into the hidden screen mode 3, which is the true tate mode.

Don't forget to unplug your TV and plug it back in after you turn it. Otherwise there could be discoloration on the screen.
