damn it Dave. I wanted to cruise up this time for some robotron/spyhunter action, but my wife is due with our 2nd son sometime between August 15-21. That rules me out
A newborn also scratches me from hosting a socal shindig to coincide with Sven's arrival.
Heh, funny thing is we were up in san jose/monterrey last weekend, but I doubt my wife would have been happy with a family vacation for gaming purposes.

Updated the first post. We are now one week away. Please register your interest if you want to attend this shmupmeet.
If anyone has an interest in a competition, let me know. Past contests were Ketsui and Dangun level one collect-a-thons, and head-to-head Change Air Blade. Prizes may include money in an entrance pot, or a hard slap on the back.

Awesome! Downtown is like 15-20 minutes away, south on highway 101. I'm very close to the highway exit, so directions should be easy. You should check out San Francisco's nightlife Friday or Saturday night, as it was just rated #1 for singles on some yahoo article today (http://promo.realestate.yahoo.com/best_ ... ngles.html). Just be sure to make it to my place early Sunday as it may get too hot in the garage later in the afternoon.sven666 wrote:just arrived in san jose so ill be there
currently staying down town, how far away is your place dave?
I'll PM everyone directions tonight.
Props to Dave!
Just wanted to give some props to Dave K. for another superb meet! Great to meet Sven, pixel, shari; see peeps like dirty monk again. Top notch presentation from a top notch guy, thanks again Dave!
And man, that Aerofighters Special limited board kicks major butt. Of course Galuda 2 and Pink Sweets looked awesome as well, but we all know that already...
Sincerely,
Mikhail

Thanks Mikhail, and everyone else, for another fine meet. Special thanks to Sven for making the trek up north from LA to attend.
Sven and Zak showed off their Espgaluda II prowess, Bernard was addicted to DOJ (probably because no DDP at this meet), Ketsui got a less love than expected (with a paltry 65M highscore), and IlMrm looped Gunbird 2 at least once. Lots of C72 dojin shooters, and one wicked dojin fighter (thanks Brian).

From left to right: IlMrm, BER, DirtyMonk, Sven666, Ironish, Segasonicfan, Pixelcorps, and myself (looking like I need to drop a few pounds in the mid-section). Missing from the group shot were: Shariar07, Arman, Mikhail, and Louisg.

Sweet videos! Whats funny is I only got that Mame setup working right as everyone started showing up! I didn't even have time to load the screenshots, which should have been displaying in the upper left corner as you scroll through the game list.
The frontend I'm using is Mala (http://mala.arcadezentrum.com/) and the Serial Display v1.1 plugin to drive the Betabrite LED sign attached to the cab's marquee holder frame.

I think Bernard and myself were the only ones playing Night Raid...which was on a switcher with Radient Silvergun. Nobody played RSG. Both got swapped out after lunch for The Outfoxies and then Soukyuu Gurentai.
My garage has evolved/grown a lot over the years. Looking back at early pictures it just seems so barren with only 2 or 3 candy cabs, and nothing on the walls.
I will be hard pressed to add more cabs now. I may be moving next year anyway, so we'll see what happens then.

A classic, I hadn't touched it in about five years since selling my Saturn. Night Raid gave me a hallucinogenic trip.
BTW, Ironish does not have an account here because of a hotmail address so he wanted me to pass on his thanks for the meet! I wish I could have stayed for the pics by if I missed my mom's B-day I would have been out of the will...
Sincerely,
Mikhail
