Mwahahahahha!!

Actually though, they were a very prolific shooter developer and I think many of their games were way ahead of their time.

Check out all their shit here: http://www.ngy1.1st.ne.jp/~momochi/untiku/nmk.htm

A lot of the time they didn't have their logo on the games they developed so this site is helpful is seeing exactly what they made. This is also obviously the reason why so many people don't even know who they are and that they were one of the main shooter developers of the 80's and 90's.

NMK deserves love. I'm all about Operation Ragnarok/Zed Blade, particularly the Manabu Namiki soundtrack.

ZUN and Cave, pretty much.
My 1CCs so I can find the list easier myself
<Despatche> you've been a thorn in the shmups community since the beginning, you're largely responsible for the horrible face of modern speedrunning

thats easy. Toaplan (past) Cave (present). all the other game makers just produce the odd good title here and there. they are just not as consistent as Toaplan and Cave.

G-Rev has to top my list at present.
Border Down and Under Defeat are just too awesome!

G-Rev
Treasure
Psikyo
Compile
Seibu Kaihatsu
Taito
Konami
Technosoft
Toaplan
Video System
Cave

I haven't played anough Raizing or Takumi to comment.
Had to edit and add Video System, I'd rather play Sonic Wings 2 or 3 over any of the Cave games. Though Rabio Lepus leaves a lot to be desired.

treasure, always.

some people find it difficult to get into radiant silvergun and ikaruga because they are a thinking man's game. but i can't think of a company that has had such an audacious debut shooter with little/no experience of programming that style of game before. incredible imagination of what can often be a very stale genre.
