Got to the boss w/ 3 bombs & 3 remains and somehow managed to fuck myself. Only got halfway through. Better than 2 pixels of life left I guess.

Yeah, that boss can be a bitch. It's so much harder than anything else in the mode, it can really f'you up faster than you think. A good strategy is to just bomb it twice during the very first phase (time the bombs so they coincide with when the bullets get faster and she throws out a couple more swarms), then bomb on the second form whenever you feel you're getting too close to one of those big bullets. You can just bomb the crap out of the last form if you want, you'll have to lose 1-2 lives there to do that, but it's a safe way to get a clear if you get to her with 2-3 lives in tow.

You should be able to get 100 mil easily on the stage 2 boss... if not more. That's the first place I would work (although it sucks, and takes a while to do it properly).

And that's not even doing it "right".

Generally, you simply tap C for the last two pattenrs. The first one, just jack him up and get max gems when fills the screen w/ shit. For the 2nd pattern, do the tap thing, filling up even more gems on the first set of circles (that fly at you). You should have upwards of 9000 (9999 if you're good) gems. The next time he throws those circles at you, you score. You MUST pierce one wave of bullets though, and it can get tricky. You then try to grab another 2-3000 gems one one of the other circles. Then, the 3rd time he throws the circles at you, you fill up your gems again. The third wave can be milked as well for an extra 30 mil, but I'm usually just ready to get it over with by then.

Right, that's basically it. There are three phases to this boss. On the first phase, you simply get through it and try and get as many gems as you can at the end of it (4000+ is good). The second phase has up to 3 "loops". I don't tap C here at all, I simply hold C and let off it some times to make sure I don't take off too much health too fast. For the first "loop", you should get big gems from the two "circles" that pop out. For the second loop, you cash in the multiplier on those two "circles". Also, you don't have to go through any bullets during this big scoring phase with Normal Reco. As long as you start shooting on the left right away, you'll cash in on the multiplier before the first wave of bullets reaches you. For the third and final loop of the second phase, you should try and get as many big gems from the "circles" as you can, by destroying them with the A shot when your chaining bar is red.

For the final phase, as long as you have over 9000 gems (ideally 9999, which really isn't very hard), what I do is start on the far right of the screen and hold C the whole time, slowly moving to the left. During the second attack of this phase, I bomb while I'm the far left corner, when the swirling bullet swarms get a bit too close for comfort. Then move back to the far right of the screen and hold A, moving left slowly. Then cash on the multiplier during the last swirling bullet swarm by holding A. If you do this as I described, you get around 50mil (just from this final 3rd phase!), which is well worth the effort.

Well, I got the original clear (on my 6 th credit if you're counting...and two of them were "throw aways"). Missed my high score by about 7 million though. Not sure if I'll try to score higher in Original or Maniac. There's a game center w/ 1.0 in Shinjuku. Might try that out. I remember nothing about it.

Never seen it pulled off. The few maniac players at my game center always go through the bullets. I guess if you're used to it it doesn't matter if you're off-centered.

It's pretty easy. Just start holding A on the left side of the screen right before the left ball comes out, and center your fire on the middle of it. It will explode triggering the multiplier just a split second before the first wave of bullets meets you.

This maniac run was going well until stage 5!! I had managed a no-miss up to stage five then i got all excited and bombed the crap out of the level, missing all the scoring oppertunities coz i didn't want to risk a death so i could 1CC. What a nob
