Questions about a Neo29

I'm looking at getting a Neo 29 cab and was wondering a few things about it.

First of all can the monitor be set vertically? This is key since i'm buying it for shmups.

Also, is this set up for MVS JAMMA or standard JAMMA?

Anything else I should be warned about before purchasing one? Thanks

It can rotate vertically, mine is currently like this.

It is MVS JAMMA so it needs some rewiring before you plug JAMMA games into it (unless u want them to blow up...)

As long as you can rewire it there's nothing to worry about. I also have a spare manual for sale if you end up getting one and want it.

Surely it won't blow up.

As far as I can see a Neo29 would have no need for -5v, it would have neo 4 button wired as standard and the audio would be wired for stereo.

For most games, especially 3 button shooters, only the audio circuit would need to be rewired.

I have a Neo 29 it came wired as Jamma with mono sound and the 4th button wired.

On my Neo 29 you would have to alter the wiring for MVS (stereo) Jamma.

I guess all Neo29s arent created equal. I know there are at least 3 variants so this is understandable.

and you actually can "blow up" a Jamma PCB if connected to the MVS JAMMA wiring on a Neo 29. I blew a capacitor (it actually exploded) on my Outzone board because of this and almost broke amps on my other boards (they get extremely over loaded and burn up if you leave em on to long).

Just giving a heads up cause it has happened to me. Make sure you check the connections to know if its MVS or JAMMA.

I would just use a 1 slot on it in Jamma mode.

For arcade operation MVS is fine, but for home use changing the cart is not a 25 minute chore, it takes 25 seconds at most. I would only use a proper MVS multi slot if I had two or three other dedicated Jamma cabs.
