That NES controller that you tilt with your feet to control the games. The controller that is shaped like a trackball, but works like joystick for the NES also sucks.

Here's a whole article full of terrible controllers. My favorite worsts are The Game Handler and the Roll & Rocker. Totally pointless crap.

That was that one NES controller I was talking about in my last post. It's horrible.

I'll have to read that article more carefully. Given the price, I suppose the Steel Batallion controller might be in the running.

A lot of people hate the N64 controller more, but I honestly find the Gamecube controller far more of a pain to use...though I haven't used any of the really wacko setups in the linked article, out of the controllers I have used it's probably my least favorite.

There are lots of controllers worse than the original X-Box duke pad. Lessee...non-modded PSP, Jaguar, Intellivision, Power Glove. Sega Activator, anyone? I love the fact that Eternal Champions was supposed designed around the thing...

*cough*PS2*cough*

Oh you knew I was gonna put it in there...

That one has the advantage of being actually useful, however.

(For one single game.)

(Ever.)

(Which cost 200 bucks when it was new.)

With most of the other ones you're just better off with the standard controller.

Hey, I like that one!! :?

Of course when I first switched from SNES to PS I thought the controller was huge and too heavy.

C'est la vie.

I am one of those
In fact I was dislike the Nintendo 64 for many years

What is odd however, is that I don't mind it for playing Sin and Punishment and really wish to try Bangai-O with it. I actually hold the controller different when I play SandP.

Other controller which I do not like:
Atari VCS/2600. I cannot play with that thing. As a child, I did not like video games because of the controller, Nintendo and the "brick" controller with the revolution D+pad allowed me to ENJOY video games so here I am today :)

Here's another vote for the ps2 dual shock.

I'm one of the few who tried to use the broken dpad on a regular basis so that part sucked complete ass for me. Another detail was the way the pad lacked analog triggers for driving games. That wasn't so bad but it still sucked ass when you tried to play GT.

About 8 years ago I learned to play Stargate decently with it, but it was a major PITA. Unfortunately if you want to play on a real 2600 you'll probably be stuck with it.

No mentions for the Dreamcast controller? I really appreciate that they tried to do something new, but God, what a piece.

I don't like the dc controller's dpad. But everything else works fine for me. I especially enjoy it's ability to control racing games.

Wiimote, because having only a vague and inconsistent relationship between what you do and what happens on screen is "revolutionary" and "fun".

The end of video games as I've known them.

It's funny because it's really no different than the Power Glove in that regard. It kinds seems logical to me Nintendo would do something like the Wiimote once they tried to stop directly competing with the other consolemakers. It's kind of like the second coming of the NES, with all the weird peripherals and stuff. It's something I'd expect from a company that made playing cards and children's toys. It's far from being the worst controller ever at least, there are far more deserving atrocities, like some of the colecovision crap I used to own.

As for the end of video games as you know them, I'd chalk that up to just being jaded. Crap like the Wiimote and the Balance board, it's just the 80's all over again to me.

This. I find it hopeless for just about everything, especially games which requires the analog sticks which feel too loose and are in a strange position too close to each other. Then there's the awful d-pad which was made even more useless for the PSP :(
