R-Type Delta: 1-life clear!

Post by Specineff »

Perhaps this should go on the hi-score thread, but I just can't contain my excitement. I made it to the second-to last boss without much thought, and when I finally destroyed it, I noticed I hadn't lost a single life which for me it's quite a feat since stage 6 is one of the most hair-yanking ones. Last stage is a joke compared to it. And when I finally detonated the Delta weapon to destroy Bydo Core, I just sat there realizing it: I had just one-lifed that bitch!

Gotta love the Albatross. Most underrated ship, ever.

Peace out.

Nice job. I'm working on one-lifing R-Type III again myself.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

To answer all your questions, it was the Albatross, took me about a month of practice, and my score was pretty pitiful compared to that of Ben Shinobi, since I played mostly for survival.

Thanks to you all.

Congrats, I really ought to play this one more. Really really great game but it's sitting collecting dust!

After all, R-Type Delta isn't so difficult. I cleared it many times, and 4 times without losing a ship.

I like all of the 3 ships (R-9, R-13 & R-X).

The levels 2,3, and 5 are indeed masterpieces.

Not to start a war, but the NTSC version runs kinda faster compared to the PAL one (confirmed after watching Ben Shinobi's superplay)

it's not showin'off, I just tell what I did.

If you want me to show off, I 'd say I clear all of the R-Type series, even the most difficult episode, R-Type II. And I'm sure I'm one of the best french R-Type players.

1cc Board for R-Type:

R-Type (arcade, PSX, Master System, MSX, Game Boy, Amiga)
R-Type II (Arcade, PSX, Game Boy, Amiga)
R-Type III (SNES)
R-Typa Delta (PSX)
R-Type LEO (arcade)
R-Type Final (PS2)

You see. I don't understand why you call it "show off". :?

It's great to clear R-Type Delta, but I say it again, anyone can clear R-Type Delta with some training.

No. You're right. I never played R-Type. I even don't know what R-Type is.

And I don't know what a shmup is, either.

Next time, just tell me "shut the F*** up, melonhead", it'll sound better to me.

Now I see, it REALLY sounds better to me. The fact is, I'm keen on R-Type series. If you don't please, I don't give a F***.

Such a pity, I started to talk about R-Type Delta, and now we come to this dreadful non-sense talking.

Yace D: The reason this whole tirade started is because you came into the thread and said that Delta wasn't that hard. It seems rather arrogant in this context.

Perhaps language differences...dunno...though around here the melonhead invite is just asking for it.

What is ben shinobi's high score? It's not posted in the high score thread. This game isn't much about scoring though, the challenge lies in getting all the notes.

According to Super-play.co.uk:

One life replay
PSX system
Normal difficulty
Score: 718,875 pts

Link to replay: http://www.super-play.co.uk/index.php?superplay=111

Pretty sure that's not ben.shinobi's high score, but it's what I could find at the moment.

Oh, I see. But I never said R-Type Delta was an easy game. I just said anyone can be a good R-Type Delta player with some training. And I still think R-Type Delta is not that difficult, R-Type II is the hardest R-Type game.

It's the same for all R-Type games: if you are determined and focused, victory will be yours.

I also said it's great to clear R-Type Delta. If you want to see my scores , see the high-scores topics of shmup.com, the french website.

I had no evil intentions when I posted. Is it so unbelievable ?

That's all.

Hi guys!

Forgive Yace D, it is right a misunderstanding i think. He's a good boy
To my knowledge he's really the best r-type player (to date) and probably the greatest french fan.

(i still forget to post my high score on UD.... )

Y^nO is right.

How could I say...
Yace isn't arrogant at all. It's really the best R-Type player in France. Surely.

He juste wanted to say that R-Type Delta is not so difficult.
There are no offense in that. It's just a personnal opinion of the game. He don't say at all that 1CC R-Delta is easy, and this may make by everybody.
He really have good intentions, and he don't want to make offense a all.

As if opening a thread to tell everyone you just one-lifed / one-credited a game didn't look like showing off ?

Specineff said he was just very happy with his run, which made him open this thread.
I couldn't prevent myself from telling some people I one-credited a game (I won't tell the game name, it would be showing off  ) when I did. Sure this was joy, but this was also showing-off...

(edit : two French Team banners, uh oh. They'll think we're partial, Dusk :P )
