i lost 13 hours of 'free time' playing this game yesterday.
pretty fun. nice controls (once you get used to it). great graphics for a PS2 game and incredible audio.

any other players of this game here?

Use the search, Luke. And while Red Star revolves around shooting, it is not a shmup, which we generally define as 2D auto-scroll shooter (without gravity).

I like it but I wish there was more shmuppy stuff and less beatemup stuff. Ah well.
