Adobe buying Macromedia

I don't know if you guys care, but I work in graphic design and I was saddened by this news. I love Macromedia and Adobe, though their products are essential, always seem cold and distant to me,.

Whoa, I always thought Macromedia was part of Adobe considering how often they've worked together...

Macromedia indeed put out some great products. I think they started out as a game company, too. ;) ... I think we'll probably continue to see Dreamweaver and Flash, but yeah, you can probably kiss Freehand goodbye. I don't use it (Corel guy here, yeah I know), but I know a lot of people preferred it for various reasons.

"the worlds most annoying document formula"

.... :? Ehh?? Adobe Acrobat Reader has always worked perfectly for me, and I've always found it to be useful.

Shit. My Macromedia Stock went up like $3 a share today and I sold it all. Guess I should read the news more. :/

Ouch! I guess I'll have to switch to illustrator soon then. Damn. I always preferred Freehand for various reasons.

I just hope that Adobe doesn't take away Fireworks, hands down the greatest internet graphics tool ever created.
