What exactly does he say when you get a powerup? I know he says "Chaser" when you get the homing missile but the rest is hard to make out.

Emergency, Stage Clear, Game Over, Tusk (i think... this is the sound for the 'options'), Lightning, Echo, Sonic Boom, Heat, Earthquake, Chaser, and Hyper Cocoon are the voice samples on the 4-in-1 Super CD version.

What really interesting is if you were to go to the "Options" screen and remove the 4-in-1 Super CD-Rom2 disc from the Duo's CD-Rom drive, and highlight the effects selection, you find out, that all the sound effects and digitize voice effects are stored in RAM bank until powering it down for the day or upon loading another Hu-Card/CD-Rom2/SCD-Rom2/Arcade CD-Rom2 formatted game. Of course, the music is already 'Red-Book' audio format -- so that's already played on the fly... ^_~

What's interesting is the PC Engine Duo/Turbo Duo console platforms both have a dual-speed CD-Rom drive from the get-go for faster loading times of such CD-based medium...and all this was possible back in 1991/1992 timeline era..... ^_~

Wrong.

Speed was 1x. It was a myth later proven false.

This is the first I've ever heard of anybody ever even dream of mentioning that the optical drive in these things was any faster than single-speed.

It sounds like Tusk... boy, Red Kaminarimon were really ripping off Thunder Force & its Claw weapon. Why not just call it Talon? Or Paw?
