X Play reviewed this game last night.

Hell, Adam Sessler even said the word 'shmup'. And more than once.

He also said that while looking for players on Xbox LIVE he came across some top notch players...you guys?

Yeah, "astaroth9" is very good and always on. Problem is when he wins(always) he has no problem telling you how bad you are.

haha, during the commercial break the question was:
"What do the Japanese call shmups?" or something like, and the choices were:

a. Doujinshi
b. Danmaku
c. Dodonpachi

got a kick out of that.

*sigh*

I do so hate players like that.

So VERY dang annoying.

I remember, back in the days when Crimson Skies was big on Xbox Live, there was this guy who used to do that..... very first match online I ever had, early on he was pestering everyone else, anyone he took down, he'd be mean to.

I made a point of stomping him into the dirt. He wasnt pleased, no.

That type is annoying as all heck to deal with.....

.....but it's SO freaking satisfying to make them shut the heck up.

There's no such thing as a player who ALWAYS wins.

Everyone has their weakness, you just have to find it..... or just plain be stronger than they are.

It's incredibly difficult to find a Session for Senko no Ronde. It seems this isn't a very popular title, which is a true shame. I've had it since the price drop in the UK and have invested several hours in it. I've gone from WTF!?, this is to G-Rev as Silpheed is to Treasure, to actually exploring the possibilities of each character. It's a great little game, but should have been an XBLA title and may have received more exposure as a result. Missed opportunity G-Rev. I only hope this is a learning experience for them, and that they embrace XBLA. I'd certainly love to see more of their output, as I'm sure you guys would too.

Every time someone mentions that this game should've gone on XBLA for its initial release needs to be punched in the face. I'm getting tired of trying to defend this game for the nth time against this argument.

I really don't understand this mentality, really. Why aren't people complaining that Shikigami no Shiro III isn't going to be an XBLA title? Because it was originally made for PC hardware that's almost as powerful when it was initially released?

It is a rediculous stance, especially when you consider how much it would cost to become proficient at an arcade.

Games like Senko No Ronde and Shiki 3 are CD-sized games, if they were considered for Live Arcade, Microsoft would probably insist on a lot of audio compression or other changes. I don't think anybody wants that who is a fan of these games. I can't say I was a fan of Senko No Ronde but the music was the best part! Granted there are a lot of demos of retail games that are that big. Americans and Europeans probably wish for XBLA versions because they think it has a better chance of coming here that way. Which I think is probably where that guy on your forum is coming from. Publishers are gonna be scared to touch this stuff after what happened to Senko No Ronde. At least I would think so, don't kill me or anything...

No, that sounds about right. You won't get punched in the face for bringing up what they're thinking about this situation. :)

However! Since Gamespot recently left themselves wide open for additional attacks, now is a good time to bring up this game again into a new light with that crowd so maybe Ubisoft will take notice and finally release the downloadable content that's been sitting in Japan for over a year already.

I'm online a lot, Zaarock on XBL too.

I also like the games music, gives the game some more atmosphere

That's the same as saying the game was worthless.

Now don't put words in my mouth icycalm, maybe if I said it was the ONLY good part. Anyways I can admire the system and design of the game while still admitting I'm too ADD to appreciate it properly. It is a good game and I see why it has such a cult following. Like I can say I had fun watching Evil Dead but it's not MY movie. On a whole I have weird issues with games that don't have immediate responses to each input you make. But I am appreciating the game more and more. I've been playing with Zaarock and while he's handed me my ass each and every game I have to say I enjoyed it a little bit :)

edit: ok after a while getting your butt kicked gets old, especially when I'm trying so hard to change it up i don't even get a hit in on him >_<

nah, the theme for the A-5 costumes are the characters cosplaying as someone else from one of G.Rev's other games while the B-5 ones are chibi versions of each character.

Though I dunno about this game since it's more of a collaboration than anything else.

Yeah, I saw liumark's thread already obviously. It's too early to tell, but so far I agree with his evaluations. And yeah, Changpo's barrage seems like the most obvious thing to nerf. Sorry, man. :P

Edit: dai jou bu has a translation in his ST thread.

Actually, I dont really feel a difference with the neutral barrage.. and I only use changpo B anyway, so the patch isn't that big a deal for me.

Fun to see whats been updated with the other characters though, the new Mika B is quite fun to fight.

Aaaaaaagh, I cant play this currently due to my brother having obliterated the 360...... sort of. Techinically it still exists, but that nitwit went and snatched it and took it off to college with him.... in the process managing to delete all of my data, cause he "didnt know it was on there".

Argh.

I miss playing this.....

And alternate Cuilan outfits make me drool.

......and so do Karel's there, for that matter.... holy heck.
