The guy who previously owned it had an excellent resource on many Toaplan games. Shame it was taken by someone who didn't think the AYB joke is a skeletal horse.BrianC wrote:Someone revived http://www.toaplan.com, but the whois suggests it's most definitely fake. Yeah. I miss the old toaplan.com site too. Lots of nice info.Twiddle wrote:The guy who previously owned it had an excellent resource on many Toaplan games. Any hope that Techno Soft could get back together & release another shmup (even if it isn't TF6) is cause for celebration, if apprehensively. Don't break out the party hats just yet, but at least this is something. TF fanboys like myself have been waiting with baited breath far too long for something like this to be a ruse.

I fathom if Tecno Soft does return at all we're either going to see some collection of Thunder Force games (or possibly the TF series on XBLA or something) or Thunder Force VI.ZeetherKID77 wrote:What about sequels to Hyper Duel or Blast Wind? Or...a Hyper Duel/Blast Wind pack?
Hyper Duel and Blast Wind are a bit too obscure for most folks.
Though its like I said elsewhere, Tecno Soft was very much on the decline before they ceased to exist, so I'd rather they just stay there and let their memory remain golden as opposed to be another Sega.

TecnoSoft should make TF6 their comeback release. What it needs are some of the features of TF4 that didn't make it to TF5 - like the collisible terrain and the multi-screen high stages. Some new scoring system other than the "x16" one should be brought in.
Remixing the original Thunder Force would be nice for a change- especially if it were included as a bonus game with TF6.
Twenty-One Corp. are the owners of the site. Let's hope we don't get Thunder Force: The Pachinko. If the site goes down in November, let's take our bets off the table.
TF5 is OK, but a full-on remix with high polygon models, new textures, etc. (like Namco did with some of their arcade games when brought to PS2) could rock. The enemy patterns in TF5 aren't as spectacular as what TF4 has- and the levels are too easy. Tecnosoft could address that with a new Super Maniac mode.

And I wonder why the hell some panchinko company purchase out a gaming company?jp wrote:Yeah, Twenty-One Company is the panchinko company that bought Tecno Soft out.
Which is interesting. Do you think any of the original TS guys are still there? Wouldn't they have all abandoned the company once a panchinko company gobbled 'em up?

That's why some of the original owners wrestled it out of Aruze's hands and turned it into SNKPlaymore. Better than nothing, I say.Fighter17 wrote:And look what Aruze did to the company.eight wrote:SNK and Aruze anybody?jp wrote:Yeah, Twenty-One Company is the panchinko company that bought Tecno Soft out.

Too bad Technosoft is too small to generate such interest.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

Perhaps, but if they could come back w/ a renewed sense of purpose, it might be worthwhile having them back.jp wrote:Though its like I said elsewhere, Tecno Soft was very much on the decline before they ceased to exist, so I'd rather they just stay there and let their memory remain golden as opposed to be another Sega.

That's a good one!
They must've said: "We have to get them western fan-boys' hard-earned bucks"!
"Let's gather up and make a new shooter!"

I think I remember reading about that... (but now am starting to question my memory...).
And that November is long gone now, so we can still hope...RyanDG wrote:With that said, the website itself expires this November.

this has all pretty much been stated already, but i just read this on wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tecnosoft:
"In 2006, the URL Tecnosoft.com was registered and updated, however, as of 2007 no updates other than, "We will restart soon! Please wait for a while." have been added to the website, and the website itself will expire in late 2007.
Some Technosoft staffers left to start game developer CAProduction in 1993."
does anyone love herzog zwei as much as i do?
