Battlestar Galacticia (new series)
I was just reading some info that a friend sent me, about a Battlestar spinoff series on Sci-Fi channel called "Caprica", it will focus on events before what's going on now with BG, and may even include some old-school Cylons.........
This is great news, and if it's as well done as Battlestar, it would be a welcome addition to my TV viewing.....they even mentioned using the writer of the "24" series.

Wow. What a season opener. I mean, really, wow. This show rocks so frakkin' hard. I was at the edge of my seat the whole two hours, and will really sweat things out until next Friday.
Only problem is, if you haven't followed the series from the beginning, you will have no clue what's going on.......
But this has got to be the best show going on TV right now.....

this past friday's episode...

I especially love the scene when the Pegasus came in firing.

from the radar feint on the basestars; to the FTL in/viper skydrop/FTL out of the galactica; to the aerial viper/raider dogfights; to the aforementioned pegasus scene; to its subsequent "put THIS in your pipe n smoke it, star trek III enterprise!" blaze-of-glory destruction, the liberation of new caprica from the cylons was one of the most amazing, viscerally exciting sci-fi combat scenes ever put to celluloid...ranking just under return of the jedi's assault on the 2nd death star.
it was ALSO the single best case for an MMO-shmup i've ever seen.

Let's hope the rest of this series keeps the standards of SO3 Episode 4.
(No doubt they'll do another skanky Series 3 part 1, Series 3 part 2 to ca$h in
though).
Yep, ditto on that!Wow what an episode.

I saw the flaming Galactica in the previews, and automatically thought that it would get ambushed, crash, and Adama and the rest of the crew would be trapped on planet too......but there went that theory....
I'm just disappointed that the whole New Caprica arc is finsihed already, I love the whole concept of Cylon occupation, it ended too soon.
And besides the amazing visuals mentioned and storyline, you have to love what a mind-frak the cylons run you through......they pushed Starbuck to an almost breaking point, and look what the truth about that situation turned out to be (trying to avoid spoilers......)
This show just keeps on getting better, and if they do make a game of this quality, sign me up!

i so agree. how good is a show that can, after 3 seasons of carefully crafting a almost thoroughly unlikeable son of a bitch (col. tigh), create the perfect situation to make you the viewer connect with him? i mean, come on...NO ONE deserves to have to do what he ended up having to do. and when you see the look in his eye (...) at the end of the episode, if your heart doesn't go out to him you simply have no soul.postman wrote:This show just keeps on getting better, and if they do make a game of this quality, sign me up!
re: the game, there WAS a rumor running around gamespot that the creators wanted to make a game based on the new series....

I just read on TNL that Season 4 will be the last.
My
My
Wot?! So Season 4 will be the last. Talk about Deja Vu! This happened to the original series (before they reached Earth). Then Galactica 1980 came out and got canned for being inferior.
I have to agree that the 2nd half of Season 3 was lame, but still...improvements can be made. They need to get new people with new ideas to breathe life into it. It always has potential. They shouldn't have bogged themselves down with Apollo/Starbuck infidelities etc.
I still miss the ORIGINAL Starbuck!
& the way the ORIGINAL Cylons said "Imperious Leader", "By your Command".

^Right! Thanks for the headz up, I'm on it...
In the meantime I've been working my way through the rare Galactica 1980 series.
EDIT:- Wicked! Derek got saved

^They've been going on a bit heavy with the Religion though...It's getting a bit too much like Lost though, there's too much we don't about what's happening..........

^Hmm...Episode 3's last three minutes wasn't the intelligent move with that info, in fact kinda annoyingly dumb, but I guess they have to string things along

'Guess What's Coming to Dinner' EP07 - Now THAT'S what I call an episode
Very interesting indeed. Masses of characters holding secrets, lots of style, great stuff.
EP6 Warmed up a bit, then EP7 just came through
The previous episodes were beginning to slip, evidence being that this thread slipped to page 7.
