Who has the definitive Cave collection on this forum?
I know Zak has tons of wares where this is concerned. I would just like to see what a comprehensive collection of Cave games actually looks like and if its possible to fit it all in one photo.
So go on, make us all envious, someone..
And believe me, I really just want to see a big pile of Cave.
Actually come to think of it, neo-geo.com has a collection page of peoples collection of neo geo carts, pocket games and arcade games. I think it would be a good idea to do something on this site very similar but to do with shmups only.
What do you think?

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

We have this and that's quite enough.neorichieb1971 wrote:Actually come to think of it, neo-geo.com has a collection page of peoples collection of neo geo carts, pocket games and arcade games. I think it would be a good idea to do something on this site very similar but to do with shmups only.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Assuming zak still has his house, he's probably got the most impressive collection as he's got full kits of older games. I believe Sven (and maybe SuperPang?) are the only ones w/ DOJ Black Label full kit, w/ poster and flyer.
My goal is to somewhat attain a location test PCB.

I'm sure we both have items that make each other jealous. There are certainly two of the best Keibu collections outside Japan here in the UK though. Makes me proud.
I've decided to be a modest collector for some reason and I don't feel comfortable uploading pics of the whole shebang. I have no idea why.
I just sit back and watch em become even more valuable than the silly money they already cost me. Cave collecting has gone nuts over the last 5 years. Ironic as I think both me and zak sold our anal Neo Geo collections to fund the habit.

I think all of the Cave collectors sold of other collections in favour of this addiction, i know i did.. glad i did too.

No serious collector is going to show pictures of their collection. It is simple economics. If a collector has a rare item that no one outside of his group knows about, he can look for the item in secret and most likely buy it for a decent price and upgrade his collection. If he shows a picture of the item or tells people of its existence, suddenly lots of people now want to buy it. If it goes up for auction more people bid on it. If it is in a store, the odds of the collector finding it first are dramatically decreased.sven666 wrote: ed: what i would like to see is a japanese arcadecollector and what they focus on?

I can undestand why, but I'd also be interested in seeing some pics of some kits of early Cave games. If you have some I'd love to see them. ^^SuperPang wrote:I've decided to be a modest collector for some reason and I don't feel comfortable uploading pics of the whole shebang.
In Japan, especially in the big cities, it is very hard to amass a large arcade collection, simply for reasons of space. I know that MUL from neuro-nex.net put his Cave collection up on his site, but they're PCB-only. Don't know of anyone else.sven666 wrote:ed: what i would like to see is a japanese arcadecollector and what they focus on?
Supposedly though Akira Nishitani (designer of SF2, head of Arika) has been a huge PCB collector since the mid-80s and has one of the largest PCB collections in Japan. Probably has some pretty nifty stuff in there.
