Contributions wanted for Konami article

Post by MikeB »

'lo shmups fans.

Due to recent annoyances I'm possibly going to take a breather from my site for a while and get my head-space back, however in some actual good news as the site'll be featured in a certain UK Retro magazine in about two weeks so I'd like to go out with a bang and finish off the Rogue's Gallery. As most of you probably know this is an A-Z of games/bosses/company profiles and all its missing are letters 'K', 'Q' and 'Y'.

For 'K' I propose doing a page or two on Konami listing some of it's most interesting games, and maybe including a Xexex article I've already written up.

To help me out I'm opening it up to shmups forum posters to contribute by basically selecting a favourite Konami game (preferably 2D but doesnt have to be a shmup) taking a few screengrabs if possible in MAME (or respective emulator) and writing between 100-400 words on their selected title. Keep the tone fairly light if you wish (as you probably know the tone on the site isn't meant to be overly serious) and just have fun. ;)

Then zip it all up and send it to me at wilco@(nospam)madasafish.com or if you are really lazy stick it on here if you wish.

If anyone has any ideas or contributions for 'Q' or 'Y' I'd also be very interested.

Lastly, does anybody fancy a co-authoring role on DAM? Basically someone reasonably reliable who I can trust with Malc's login pass ;)
They'd be free to post what they wish (within reason) within the scope of DAM. Doesn't have to be just one person either, more can apply. Site needs cleaning up a bit as well re typos/HTML glitches so if anyone wants to lend their expertise I'm all ears

Malc had a Quarth PCB at one shmup meet once.. interesting game.

Quartet was that weird 4-way split screen Sega jobby wasnt it? Must admit I never played it.
