Doom3 Removed Scenes.... (56K unfriendly warning!)

Post by ST Dragon »

I remember back in 2002-3 these Doom3 pics were released on the Net, but they never made it in the Final Doom3 game...
Or did I miss something?

I don't recall seeing these guys anywhere in Doom3?!
Image

Or this Zombie with no shirt:
Image

And the hungry dog "Yum Yum" scene:
Image

This scene in Hell?
Image

The revenant in the Underground Cavers?
Image

And in this scene you can see your self on the mirror wearing a helmet.
Image

These guys infront of the generator
Image

The poor soldier being zombified!
Image

Or the famous "Creepy ass scientist and a teeth gritting soldier" scene
Image

I wonder why they were removed? They looked cool.

I haven't played the game, but the revenant and "dog" enemies always looked like some of the cooler characterizations to me, based off screenshots. So they aren't in the game at all, or those particular scenes just don't exist?

a lot of them just look like concepts or "ooh-look-at-our-technology" screens.

aside. just bought Doom III on Xbox. fun shit this. not quite Doom, but very appealing mood(y).
I have no sig whatsoever.

How is it not quite Doom? It's more Doom than it should be: How often did you walk into a dark empty room with a lone power-up. Then - when you pick it up - hordes of enemies came out from WALL-CLOSETS?! I mean, shit I was an evil imp guy I would construct a wall closet that looked just like the rest of the station and stand in it all day waiting for someone to fall into my "clever" trap.

Sure there weren't that many enemies attacking you at once, but seeing as there isn't a computer that exists yet that can run it on like the ultra hyper super mode yet...its understandable.

I did like it a lot though ;P
The white clouds floating on the great blue sky
And the boiling red blood shed in fierce gaming
Those who give up halfway through
Their battered bodies will never forget!

Segata Sanshiro, Segata Sanshiro! Sega Saturn... shiro!

These enemies exist in the final game but those scenes were removed.

Those scenes were present in the leaked Alpha Demo.
Stupid that they removed them.
