Looks like the artists are big fans of Metal Slug.

Which is not necessarily a bad thing considering the fact that SNK never got their arses up for a Metal Slug DS

Nor a decent Metal Slug sequel in the last couple of years. I still shiver when I think of Metal Slug 3D.

It's too much like Metal Slug (the art side that is), that's what bugging me the most.

Huh? Why is it bugging you? In the Hunt, Geostorm, Metal Slug and now this...I love the art style, no matter whether it's the original team or some skilled chinese guys copying it

The art to me is only good by the people who made the Metal Slug games.
I don't like the fact it's almost the same style from bunch of Chinese developers.

The screen shots look cool, but 07 Commando looks like too much of a ripoff of the Metal Slug games. The areas look like they were blatantly "borrowed" from Metal Slug 2 and 3.

Looks nice to me. I don't care who it's made by as long as it plays like Slug.
I see something that looks like a health gauge though :(

It's welcome here, although I've still got plenty of Metal Slug to play on the Wii anthology.

It doesn't bug me. This "tribute" to Metal Slug could actually turn out well, as long as they get the game mechanics down pat.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Looks better than outsourced Metal Slug with worse than amateur sprite edits (MS4.)

Seconded, 07 Commando looks better than MS4 (worst MS aside MS5)

Looks awesome! Definitely an MS clone, but I'm down!

Now I just hope that the crappy framerate is because of their usually crappy Youtube videos and not because of the game but other than that: Awesome!

The running speed looks fine to me. It probably really is a bit low on animation.
I'm not too hot on the lifebar and armour, but I am not sure if the level design is good enough to play around one-hit kills. Anyway, makes it a bit different from Slug in that respect but still looks good enough that I would try it.

no dude, it makes it fit more on a portable platform...
looks alright to me, but seriously they need to rip that health meter right out of there, assuming the mechanics are copied as closely as the visuals of course.
I have no sig whatsoever.

Unfortunately no relation to Commando. Looks EXACTLY like Metal Slug, not that that's a bad thing though.

Wow, a lot better than my initial expectations due to the first screens.

Lots of screenies on the official site and what seems to be an explanation of the low framerate and not so smooth animation:
"Due to the being compressed of the video, the definition and running frame rate of the effect are damnified."

Really love the art. Main character kinda Akira Toriyama style and the hardware design screams Nazca Corp. Nice

At least it seems that, unlike in Metal Slug, you're actually allowed to shoot diagonally in this. Already it's got my attention.

I may try it out... but I have my apprehensions. Remember, CT Special Forces also looked nice.

I'll think about it if it loses the life counter.
"Sooo, what was it that you consider a 'good salary' for a man to make?"
"They should at least make 100K to have a good life"

Comes out in Europe in a few days, maybe. Title is "Commando: Steel Disaster". I don't have high expectations but we'll see how it is soon enough.
