UltraStik 360 and shmups

Post by Damocles »

After getting the chance to test out the Sanwa Flash stick that oxtsu brought to the KC shmupmeet I started contemplating a non-MS stick. Getting a Flash will probably be impossible, and I have no disire to use a Happ P360, so that leaves the Ultimarc Ultrastik.

Has anyone used one of these for shmups? Destructor and elvis, I'm looking at you.

Yes, currently I play using U360. Very comfortable play but my P360 with modified actuator and modified shaft is better than U360 in some situations.

I can recommend you to buy U360 than P360 because you don't must modify it as P360. But you must buy circle restrictor plate and additional hard spring for U360 too. Without these 2 items you can forget about using U360 for shmups.

A u360 plus the "must buy" optional items may cost you about 1/2 of what a flash will, but it is still possible to find people selling flash sticks. I recently turned down the opportunity to buy a new one for $125ish

U360 = 59$
spring = 3$
restrictors kit = 14$

Total = 76$

And remember that U360 has programmable maps.

Good to hear. I'm not looking for a Flash or P360, and would only pop one of these suckers in a stick if it was reasonably good.
