Voltage adjustment for superguns

Post by Ganelon »

What exactly are they used for? For example, Sigma's superguns already seem to have -5V, +5V, and +12V fixed in the power supply for the PCBs that need them. So what reason is there to provide an adjustable voltage? Because some games need odd voltages? Or is there something more to voltage output that I'm missing?

Power supplies don't put out exactly 5v, they're a little over or under. Voltage adjustment allows you to tweak the voltage until its at the point that the board is happy (e.g. 5.1 v)

If you're talking about something else, like a supergun that has a power terminal with a really wide range of adjustment, i have no idea.
