Arcade stick's
Arcade stick's
Hi guys.
Anyone knows what sticks used in the Cave/Naomi arcades?
Sanwa/Seimitsu?
I know what Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK used in most VF arcades and HRAP's sticks. But what with shmup's? =)

I guess there isnt much between Sanwa and Seimeistu. Sanwas have a longer throw which is better for fighters. Seimeistu have a short throw, better for shooters. I doubt you would be disappointed with a Sanwa stick.
Sanwas are much cheaper I think. You won't be disappointed with either, but If I had a choice I would go for Seimeistu. I have a couple spare thats how much I like them.

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
Hm, actually i have HRAP2 via standard stick Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SKneorichieb1971 wrote:I guess there isnt much between Sanwa and Seimeistu. Sanwas have a longer throw which is better for fighters. Seimeistu have a short throw, better for shooters. I doubt you would be disappointed with a Sanwa stick.

It work perfect for me in Guilty Gear, Street Fighter, Soul Calibur and Virtua Fighter... but in shmups i have some problem with throw...

now i think about custom stick...
Re: Arcade stick's
The stick used is mostly a requirement of the cabinet used. Sega Astro City's are normally fitted with Seimitsu panels, Egrets are usually fitted with Sanwa panels. Operators don't care much about what game goes in what cabinet.P_HAT wrote:Anyone knows what sticks used in the Cave/Naomi arcades?
Sanwa/Seimitsu?
Personally I also prefer Seimitsu for shooters, as I commonly get "rebounding" on Sanwa sticks.
I'm not sure, but I think you're right. I had little experience with sticks when I went to HEY and didn't really think about it. I used to have a Sanwa panel back then, and the sticks at HEY felt the same, if memory serves right.Fu wrote:A person said me they are only Sanwa sticks and buttons in game center like HEY... The supples Sanwa...
Anyway, back on topic: I've been playing Batrider with both LS-32 and some old Sanwa sticks and I can't really decide on which I like best. I think both work really well with shooters, just a bit different.
SOUNDSHOCK
The HRAP2 is easily modifiable so that you can replace the Sanwa inside it with the Seimitsu stick no problem (and also the buttons to Sanwa/Seimitsu since the buttons are actually HAPP in the HRAP2). I have found that I like the Seimitsu more for fighters too as it makes the motions smaller which is a lot easier for me personally.P_HAT wrote:Hm, actually i have HRAP2 via standard stick Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SKneorichieb1971 wrote:I guess there isnt much between Sanwa and Seimeistu. There is no "good" or "bad" stick. There are gamers, and gamers have personal preference.P_HAT wrote:=(
So, Sanwa stick not good for shmups? =\
For fighting games I use 100% Sanwa. For shmups, I am equally as comfortable with Sanwa as I am Seimitsu. While different from each other, they both feel fine to me.
There are folks out there who despise Japanese parts all together. I know folks who are a big fan of the Suzo (made in Spain, I believe) sticks with their extremely short throw. Likewise there's the Happ (US designed) fans.
There's no right or wrong stick. Try a few different ones out, and use what you feel comfortable with. Don't use something just because everyone else uses it.
