"Official" PC shmups

Post by stanski »

Just wondering what is out there besides Freeware (got most of the good ones already), zun, and a few other random games that I know of (raiden 3, shiki 3 I already have). Any place that lists company released PC shmups?

Yea I've been there before and played a lot of the games, but most of them are freeware. What i'm looking for is what games were arcade first with pc ports/designed by a major company for pc release.

The Raiden 2 pc version isn't as nice as just playing Raiden Project in ePSXe. Although you will have to see a few seconds of that really hilarious 3d intro sequence. At least the music's good.

could always go the doujin route as well.

murasame has some cool ones out.
royal edoma (very odd point of view)
hitoga happa (fun, play it on the harder difficulties)
gundeadligne
gundemonium

and while they are free, do a company search on shootthecore for dark hell company. they've made more than a few really good games.
I have no sig whatsoever.

Actually, the PC port of Raiden II is based on the PSX game of Raiden Project with the same fucked-up controller issues as that of the USA PSX port (Interplay did release said PC port of Raiden II in the USA back in the day)...at the very least, with proper Gameshark code and a Gameshark installed on a PSX or PSone, one can play with the proper tate'd controller scheme with USA PSX Raiden Project as that of the original JPN PSX ver. of Raiden Project's correct controller scheme setup (when playing in Tate mode). ^_~

The background music featured on the PC port of Raiden II is none other than redbook audio to begin with -- is the reason why you can stick into a regular music CD player and enjoy it in 44.100kHz richness and glory... ^_~
