Price floor estimate for Galuda II ?

Any guesstimates as to the lowest price espgaluda II is likely to hit? I don't care about the kit, just would like to be able to play the game at some point, and am slightly afeared of ketsui-style price climbing.

It's down to $600 shipped right now for a full new kit. You could probably snag it for $400 used or without the kit right now, so now is a pretty good time to grab one.

It's already at rock bottom, it will not get any lower. You can get a new kit for 65,000yen and a used PCB-only for 50,000 yen from Fujita. You will not find it for any less, and once the new kits are completely gone (should happen quite soon), expect the prices to increase more and more as the months and years pass. Because there's no port for this in sight.

I'm in a similar situation right now : for me it's either get a new Galuda 2 for 600 right now , or wait and see if Futari drops more . Though I'm debating if I should just get Galuda now and enjoy it , then sell it after some months and get Futari (I like both equally).

One more thing if you are going for a purchase : You should definatly get the full kit instead of the bare PCB - considering the resale value of full CAVE kits.Hell even the included poster runs at what , 50$ ? Also I don't think either that the price will drop any more , it's been at 50,000yen for many months now and is still at 50k on the new fujita pricelist, which came out today.

Yeah, I hear you about the resale value, but the thing is, unless it sucks ass compared to 'rade and galuda I (which im pretty certain it doesnt), i'm not going to want to part with it. Seems like neither TWE nor Brumma have had much luck selling their posters, and I dont need more stuff collecting dust. Still, food for thought . . .

I don't think you're going to see much of a price drop, if any. It's been a full 18 months since the game was released. It has generally hit the floor by that time when there's no port.

And yes, I think buying the full Kit of just about any arcade board these days is always smarter. Way, way easier to unload it when you're done.

Even more reason to get the kit , imo. If you are going to spend that much on a game , you should at least be able to take pride and show off the "packaging"

else it would feel like ..paying a craplaod of money for original games , and only having some loose CD-Rs (or a pcb..) collecting dust in some drawers and nothing to show for it.

On the downside, fujita apparently only has the full kits (or at least, when I asked them if they had the used pcb and full kit in stock, they said, "brand new with poster 65000")

On the upside, i found out planet zero in houston apparently has Galuda II in one of their cabs

so i just gotta drive 3 hours to try before i buy . . .

Makes sense assuming if a shmupper gets tired of his or her beloved arcade PCB kit(s) and wants to at least get the intial investment in purchasing it back (especially when dealing with complete new or mint Cave PCB kits nowdays)... ^_~

For Cody,

Yes, it's always nice to try out such a arcade shmup PCB beforehadn before making the expensive plunge in buying one but if that isn't possible, it really doesn't hurt to make the intial purchase without trying it out. Of course, if one doesn't like the said PCB then he or she can try to get their intial monies back by reselling it and gained some insight as to how the PCB plays gameplay-wise..... ^_~
