Wow, Garegga really takes off after level 3...

Post by tehkao »

I feel like such an idiot now for ever dissing this game. I blew off this game so many times since the 1st couple stage looked so drab...but after stage 3 I couldn't believe how bad-ass this game became. Stage 4 blew me away. And that last boss...man I've never seen anything MOVE like that before...and I think I'm addicted to the music now.

I love stab and stom and thrust and thrash, yeah I remember that bastid at the end music kicks in and its unleashed hell on you.

I'm playing dodonpachi at the moment must say I love it, cleared 10 million last night (After 30 mins of playing first time) Got it last nite, wow.

Dammit I'm listening to souky cd for the music.

Stage 4 is amazing, my favorite by far. The tanks with many different attacks and then you fight that giant bio-mechanical squid. The level design for that stage alone shows why Garegga IMHO blows Bakraid outta the water. It also has the best scenery to destroy for extra medals.

Ya gotta love Yuiji Kaida's artwork on the ships and mecha. His unique style really enhanced the gritty industrial theme of the game.

I believe the requirements are to simply finish the game. Credit feeding does the trick. Once you complete the game it should show up on the main screen. Just keep scrolling over.

As much as I don't like to, it's worth it to credit feed for the super play. Gives you more of an idea of how to manipulate the hellish ranking system. An amazing replay.

Wait until you get to Black Heart. Try to master this boss, and beat it in one life. It's one of the most enjoyable and exhilirating boss fights you'll ever have.

(And then there's Black Heart Mark2 and Glow Squid after that ;))
