Idiot gameplay video. Slowdown starts from the cave in the first level to the end of the replay.

Fonts much better in this game, though. They're definitely designed around SDTV viewing, unlike Airrade AIR.

Tried that and it still didn't work. I can turn sound effects to 0 which turns off voices and sounds, or I can turn SE to 0 and voice to 100 and I still don't get voices.

It seems the voice volume doesn't do anything on my game...

heh =(

Looks like another demo bug. There is many of them - game can freeze when loading or turn off SE effects without you're wish :?

It hangs on every other loading screen just after inputing a high-score. Sometimes it returns to the title screen, other times it just starts to slowdown drastically for no real reason.

what a charming shooter!

studio siesta bring the goods yet again!

can anyone explain the full system?

seems like :

tapping A button allows you to collect coins.
holiding A buton charges your gauge after a short while

B button allows the cat to slow down bullets, i think if the enemy is destroyed while the bullets are slow, you get more coins.

not sure how the bomb works exactly, but if the big pentagram is onscreen and slowing bullets down, when the enemy explodes you get even more coins... how do I activate the bomb

button 3 fires SPECIAL WEAPONS. Some have limited ammo and time, some are just time based. On average, twice as powerful as your regular shot. Destroy tons of high-caliber enemies with these special weapons and get extends!

Special Weapons - as in the things you buy from the shop?

The Y1000 card from the shop gave me rapid fire, and destroyed enemies seemed to spit out different kinds of coins (gold with a star inside). A circular bar appears around my character and begins to shrink giving me a visual indication of how long it lasts.

Yeah, get enough of those star coins and you get an extend.

This demo is awesome. Love how almost all of the dialog is voiced too.

Didn't know you can charge shots. Probably would've helped for stage 2 since I felt like an underpowered Vic Viper.

Did anybody spot the secret with the shopkeeper? (Apparently you can touch her in...odd places, but not before you get repremanded by the owner for doing so too much).

That said, I'm still trying to get the gist of the slowdown bullets magic: Hold the button to cast, release to activate/freeze, and press again to deactivate?

Yeah, it's hold to expand the circle, then release. If you're holding the button still even though the circle reached max radius, the circle's magic won't take effect until you release it. Press the button again to deactivate it.

EDIT:

Well, from what I've played so far, not firing will make all of the coins fly toward you (nice touch, makes you conscious of that fire button).

Using the magic circle drains your magic meter, and the larger the magic circle you deploy, the faster the meter depletes. You can increase the size of the magic meter by purchasing that green vial thing at the shop, which gets more expensive every time you purchase it.

I'm assuming the magic circle is your only bomb, and your character can be augmented with additional powerups for a short while by buying spellcards over at the shop. Just press the spellcard button at anytime you have one in stock and you'll activate it.

Funny thing about certain bullets that are caught in the magic circle is that they turn yellow and change their vector towards your character if you deactivate the circle before the owner of those bullets are destroyed.

Haven't had any trouble with slowdown on my machine thankfully.

Stage 3 is pretty rough though, tons of stuff going on all at once. A pretty big leap in difficulty from the first two stages. And the game just gets harder from there.

I managed to get to the final boss on 1 credit and cleared the game on 1 continue. You unlock Arcade mode just by clearing the game... not sure what the requirements are for the secret character (if there is even one) or the secret difficulty.

The game is HARD though. The green bullets tend to be mostly harmless until late stages when there are tons of them, but there's often quite a lot going on otherwise that gets you. Stage 3 is a real bitch at first, but there's some tricks to it.

So far, Pril is the only character I like. Aqua moves just too damn slow, and I hate how Yuuki needs her familiar to have any sort of spread and damage to her shot. Plus her cat is named Al.

Biggest thing I'm still confused on is the shopkeepers. I don't understand what determines when which one will show up, and I don't understand what the loveylovey meter does at all. Items seems to show up just at set locations regardless of any of that. Also it seems like they removed the red and blue potions from the demo, or maybe they only show up in Arcade mode?

I feel like I'm still missing some important aspect of the scoring system though.

Well... it sort of somewhat explains the difference between the shopkeepers. Not really clear on anything though.

Also they misspelled 'Girls' on the box art.

Also looks like there is a major patch coming in the near future, 1.20. Will add some new spell cards if nothing else.
