I was hoping that the new Dragon Blaze video was a review, but it was a replay of the part that I've already got pretty well figured out. Though it was nice to see how you get the Tech Bonuses without using bombs.

Doubt anyone really cares, but I finally got round to finishing all the Gradius 5 - Freeze Type boss speedkill demonstrations.

pg: I still had those replays around (they were made during the STGT '06), and I thought they turned out really well (I like the music). Honestly, those are much better than any review I'd come up with for DB. I think I said all I had to say about Psikyo in the Gunbird 2 review.

My interest has shifted back to replays. I wish I had some new ones to record (kind of wish I had a capture card three years ago - too rusty at a lot of games I haven't played much in years).

Not enough games so they might be reviewed each individually, if I ever feel like doing that. Except for maybe Twin Cobra 2. I mean, why bother with that one?

Psikyo will get their tribute soon. Kind of dreading that one, since it'll have over a dozen games and this one was a major pain with six. But it just has to be done.

Ha, looking forward to that. The second-half-of-Dragon Blaze replay was freaking amazing. Loved the music, the last-stage heroics (iirc, that was handled with no lives in reserve), and the technical bonuses. I don't want to watch those last two stages too carefully because there's alway hope that I'll get there on my own some day. Drag that you caught the desert stage for 2-1, though I suppose any 2-1 would be ridiculous.

Were you implicitly drawing a comparison between Progear and a certain cluttered Genesis side-scroller that you recently made me laugh at?

So are we going to see DDP on your top 25 list some day?

It would be too unfair to compare Progear to Bioship Paladin, so I'll say that was intentional.

DDP makes a good representative of the types of games people like around here, but not my own favorite. I think DOJ is much better.

I got everyone on IRC to play Mars Matrix and everyone's scores vary by about .1 billion because nobody knows what to do during the second half of stage 3 in MAME

I just reflect bullets and get lotsa exp from the 200, 300 items that are generated.

And no idea how to do any chain in stage 3. Except for those respawning things on the right that drop masses of gold.

A serious review for Forgotten Worlds. More people should be doing reviews. Too many bad replays (like one guy who posted a complete play of Forgotten Worlds... with invincibility on) and not enough reviews.

The rapid-fire action is supposed to be the "panic bomb" button only it doesn't really work that well.

Only small enemies that aren't turrets. The times where it would be really neat if it worked is in places where you're surrounded by turrets.

Also, I suck at this game using WASD+mouse as much as I do arrow keys+ZXC. Plus my good keyboard broke down.

PS the extra life is a better investment than more firepower at stage 2

Ah, I see some icon after I bought a wide shot. I guess that's a one time bomb? I do get the potion on stage two. One mystery is that I did die on the stage three boss and the potion icon is still there. I thought it was only one revive.

Just played one more game and actually made it to the ice boss. With the flame, didn't win. Lost to an ice boss with a flamethrower. Damn game.
