Doujin game Demolition Gunner
Dark Hell Company aka the best doujin shmup team has released a new game, Demolition Gunner. It's pretty manic, but they give you a multi-layer shield. In normal mode, button 1 shoots and every other button fires a napalm/speeds movement. In remix (aka Cave) mode, the bullet patterns are slower but more dense, and instead of napalm/speed up, you slow down and fire a more powerful straight shot.

There's actually a thread about this already, but I hereby veto this to be the official thread.
Anyhoo, the remix mode. I enjoy it, but like with the original mode, it's still a bit easy. I played the Remix mode three times, each time with a different difficulty. Results: one-lifed Normal, cleared Insane and died just few seconds before clearing Shooting God (unlocked after clearing Insane) and I had made a really stupid mistake in the first stage which cost me a life.
It's the shield. Easy to acquire and very powerful. And after getting hit there's plenty of invulnerability time, quite a few times (in Insane and Shooting God) I deliberately took a hit so I could easily manuever to a better place to destroy a boss.
Still, it's a great lil' game. Wish there'd be more score-tricks, though.

Yeah after playing it a bit, Original mode on Insane seems to be an appropriate difficulty, it'll definitely get hectic when I can get Shooting God.
As for Remix mode, I almost got to the final boss on my first try on Shooting God...the bullets simply are too slow to make 2 levels of shields necessary. I think they should nix the shield altogether in Remix mode.

I think Remix is a parody of doujin games entirely populated with superslow shots considering there are very few added in the mode
so long and tanks for all the spacefish
unban shw
<Megalixir> now that i know garegga is faggot central i can disregard it entirely
<Megalixir> i'm stuck in a hobby with gays

Played a bit more, original is definitely a nice challenge on Insane. Stage select reveals that there is definitely rank, not sure how it increases though.
Also you can put in your own music, but just replacing the .ogg files in the /data directory. This is nice since the music is pretty atrocious (well, it's not unlistenable or anything, but it's not very good).

I split the DHC vs. ZUN -discussion to its own thread.

Yeah it's a nice game although Remix is way to easy. I suck at Shmups normaly but I actualy managed to complete the game on Normal on my first ever go. Saying that I perfer Orignal mode better which is much more old school and a lot more of a challange I find.
One thing I will say is that the first few level's are a little bland. The guy reuses the same cityscape area and music for three levels in a row.

damn, i just found out about this game. i shame myself.
anyway, fun little game. as has been pointed out, seems a fair shade easier than their past stuff. 1LC normal at damn near 6 mil, and got to stage 7 on insane, first shot.
the last boss on normal timed out, just a fraction of a second before i exploded his ass.

It looks like Dark Hell Company has renamed themselves to Astro Port telling from here. They have another one out, Sonic Ironstorm, which I'm liking quite a bit so far. The game can be found here along with their other games. This new one plays a bit like Demolition Gunner with a straight shooting plane instead of a tilting heli.

Sorry for my ignorance but i would like the computer controls for the vector/a.a./dark hell shooters? I tried playing Sonic Ironstorm and i can't move back or up,only left and right. Thanks for the controls on the games. This is awesome i had no idea Japanese companies into spaceship shooters would let their material be played for free. Thanks again on a brief tutorial on the computer controls.
