Blast Works to include rRootage and other games from K.Cho

Is "free" worth the price tag yet?

I think putting a price tag on these games will at least open up some new audiences to them. Maybe younger kids that aren't allowed to put games on their parents computers. etc. I'd maybe buy it at $30, just because some of the more hardware taxing Cho games can sometimes slow down on my comp.

Someone told me that Majesco bought the licensing to Kenta Cho's games.

Probably just hearsay though.

I've been hoping to see a commercially released compilation of these games for ages - if this pans out this is really awesome news. I dont have a Wii yet but if they include all the titles they mention in the article I'd be really tempted to get one. As for pricing, I'd definitely pay $30 for the ones mentioned, and I'd likely pay more if they included even more games... noiz2sa please?

I won't buy it unless they improve on them in some way. Longer levels, online leaderboards, maybe even improved graphics. Look at what Geometry Wars Galaxies is adding to regular GW.

If it's just a couple of free games I already have, then no thanks.

I didn't know Majesco was publishing this. I find that very interesting.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Yeah, it seems like a rip off to me (at least as far as I can tell from the little information on it). On the other hand, Kenta Cho deserves some money. So, why not?

It'll be worth it to see his games made a little more mainstream and brought into public view. This is just the kinda thing that shmups need to keep people interested(or rather people that may have not considered them prior to seeing these).

I really don't think Kenta Cho is getting money for this, given the BSD license.

Apparently some BSD Licenses allow for commercial purposes it seems.. at least, according to wiki.

the BSD license basically says "do whatever you want, I don't care". It's almost like no license at all.

+1 Sundance

as for the guy not recieving any money- I hope that's not the case. I wouldn't mind donating a bit to the poor man otherwise. Shame he can't take the idea to court, though.

IGN put up their first hands-on impressions of the game. They mention how the game is challenging and creative and you can suck the pieces of enemies into yourself to escape tight situations. They never mention the word "score" at all though. *sigh*
