I've allllmost 1cc'd the first two stages : P

I've been playing that game absolutly to death for the last night and today.

And I know I should be trying to just 1cc the game for the first time through and not worry about scoring so much, but......

Gragh, scoring system so neat and addictive......

As it is, I can get through the first 3 stages without getting hit.

THOUGH,

*IF* Im gonna make a mistake in one of those 3 stages, it'll be in the middle of stage 2, and ALWAYS during the assault by those large ships that appear in groups of 4-6..... they're easy to beat, BUT Im always diving after disco men at the same time.....

On the plus side, I rarely actually miss a DM when they're on the screen..... YAY for those bombs that freeze them in place. Makes me remember that I actually HAVE bombs, lol. (forgetting bombs exist is a bad habit for me in these games).

And that 2nd boss is my favorite shooter boss currently. That berserk green-bullet-spray at the end of that fight is fun. I love dodging that one.

*edit*

Is it just me, or are the bosses in that game a bit on the easy side? I used a couple continues last night to see what the final stage was like; got to the end-boss, and despite never having fought it before, I only got hit twice, and the 2nd time was entirely my own dang fault (tried to grab a DM in a bad spot, forgot I had bombs..... again).

That fight is FREAKING AWESOME, though.

Yeah, I can officially be quoted to dislike this game but solely have been playing this one in the last two weeks (well this and Gradius Advance...).

Still one of my least favourite Gradii... :?

played some shmups this evening  pc engine ones too..

played a bit into the 2nd loop of salamander, love this game, it never gets boring, i can swear the PCE version is alot easier than the arcade one tho?

download 2, awesome game, the soundtrack is in a league of its own :D the memorisation is a little frustrating at times tho, i hate how sometimes something from the background just pops to life and kills you :?

played a couple of others too but nothing too special..

got to see xipe play some hurrican (pc) too, very cool game!

Well of course the bosses are gonna be easy if you fight them at low rank and spam bombs.
That and the first form of last boss is just aimed stuff.

I mean, easy when I havent gotten hit at all and havent used any bombs :P Not missing any DMs that drop, either.

I only used the continues that one time, and that was mostly IN the last stage (I rather made an ass of myself in the first half of that one, but I wanted to see the boss anyway.....)

Now I just play it till I die, and then I start over. Usually, I wont get hit until stage 4, currently. Though OCCAISIONALLY I'll do something dumb right in the middle of 3, trying to grab DMs and run into something.

I dont know what determines rank in this game, also...... what does it?

Still, I think the bosses are a bit easy.

That 2nd boss's spam attack is still real neat though.

And speaking of currently playing, that's what I was just doing, and now Im all excited cause I managed somewhere around 650 DMs (no bombs either!) in the 2nd level this time around; Whee, big score there, I was all happy :)

Of course, then I got TOO excited and promptly smacked into something dumb on 3 :P

Really must stop getting that jittery.

And finally, playing Raiden 3.

THAT game totally hates me.

Getting better, though, at least. Currently I hit somewhere near the start of stage 5 before I go down (and go down HARD).

olol I thought you were some newbie or something, sorry 'bout that

Anyways, in Dangun rank only affects bullet speed. It increases as you survive and decreases drastically when you die. I believe it maxes out in the beginning of level 3 for no miss no bomb.

That's really all the rank does?

Hmm, they coulda made it go a bit further then.... Getting to 3 (or 4) without missing/bombing still doesnt seem all that different than if I do something stupid.....

Though, I HAVE noticed changes in boss attacks if I, say, do something REALLY dumb like crash into something at the start of stage 2.

Ah well, at least I know about it now.

Twinkle Tale, on my Mega Drive

First time playing the game, I'm tired it's almost 2 hours of play and my continues still didn't run out.
Now I'm on an Ice Level, facing previous mini bosses...

edit: I beat the game. Looks like I missed something, by the end screen. Maybe it's supposed to be cleared in one credit.

Currently playing: Mars Matrix (DC), HellSinker (PC) and Blue Wish Resurrection (PC).

BTW, has anyone figured out the scoring system in HellSinker? I give the designer credit for being to put as many bars and meters onscreen as possible.

More of Dangun Feveron!!!

Ooh, I just had my best run through stage 2 yet; I managed 698 DMs on stage 2 and didnt run into anything. Used a bomb in the middle of the stage as I always do (I really hate that part.....).

I got it input-recorded, too, whee.

I really just cant get enough of that game......

Also, Mushihime. Still trying to kill that galdurned beetle at the end of the game........

I can get it's health down to half now before it hits me with 10000000 bullets at once.
