Best TV for tate mode

Post by majik989s »

Looking into buying a new TV for my shooters. I am playing them all on my japanese and american ps2. Thinking flat LCD would be the best, but I dont know if they can sit on their side as they usually have that base stand. And I am sure I can play pretty well in 19" as long as its tate. Any info can help. thanks

Some LCD monitors have a stand that allows the screen to rotate :D
My 19" Dell screen at work does this and a friend has a Samsung LCD that does so, as well.

nice, looking into that now. Now, another question, I am assuming most, if not all, "tate" modes as specified by the game are made for normal screens (I can't think of the demontions at present) and not for widescreens, making for somewhat of a disaster playing tate mode on a widescreen tv. True?

I think most wide-screen displays have a 4:3 mode, but don't quote me on that.

ah. good thinking, but I will not quote you on that. I will attempt to get a sales person to tell me that, that way if he is incorrest he can buy me a new tv... or get fired... or appoligize I guess.
