I found it very hard to believe but it seems Gun Frontier and Metal Black are cannon to each other, or so that's how I read it from many sources. I couldn't help it but Darius seems to play a bit like Metal Black, or Metal Black seems to have some similarities to Darius.
Well whatever the case, is Darius related to the two games mentioned?
Is Darius part of the Gun Frontier/Metal Black cannon?

Think about it the other way around, that is: Is GF/MB(pGF2) apart of the Darius canon?
In short, no. I've heard that MB was supposed to be the next Darius game but for reasons I don't know, it went ahead as we know it today. I think it had to do with the darker side to the game itself, with the planet (Darius) being in ruins.

All programmed (but MB) by Hiroyuki Maruyama (founder of G.Rev). G-Darius is the only Darius game to incorporate this laser battle issue. Probably since Maruyama only worked on G-Darius. Actually, he didn't work on Metal Black, but it obviously drove his inspiration to G-Darius and Border Down.DJ Incompetent wrote:Your blue beam that counters the red beam.
Found in Metal Black, G Darius, Border Down...
Here's some more info on Metal Black and it's relationship to Darius.
