Doom3 - Resurrection of Evil Expansion...

Post by ST Dragon »

So is Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil any good?
Is it a long game? How many levels?

I loved Doom3.

Only dumb thing in Doom3 is the way you run across the Martian surface without wearing a helmet! What do you refuel with those oxygen tanks by the way when you're not wearing a helmet?

Besides, in the old 2002 sneak videos of Doom3 the player wears a helmet like the rest of the space marines & like in Doom1.
Bu they changed that in the final Doom3. They could have at least added a cut scene where he puts the helmet on before he opens the air lock.

I thought that was weird.

Is it the same in ROE?

I've just started playing Resurection Of Evil and it's great fun, I've just got the double barrel shotgun. The other key things are the gravity gun (ala Half Life 2), which can catch the imps/Hell Knights etc fireballs, which you can throw back at them and the artifact. the artifact (a pulsating heart) sucks souls and gives you beserker powers among others.
It's faster than Doom 3 and chucks the action right at you quite quickly, with a larger variety of deamons and there's a bit more variety to the level design.
Highly recommended, for an expansion pack. If you get bored of Doom 3 you should check out this mod (if you havn't already that is.)

There are loads of other great mods, however i really enjoyed this.
Oh, and your character still doesn't wear a helmet unlike the other marines.
Ikaruga review now up in PLASMA BLOSSOM

that classic mod looks really cool. unfortunately, i own Doom 3 on Xbox because aside from not working correctly, i couldn't run the game well besides.
I have no sig whatsoever.

I bought Doom 3 for 20 bucks when it was going for 40 because EB Games had a sale going on, and I snapped it up even though I don't have a beefy computer to run it yet. I hope Doom 3 lives up to it's ancestors. I'm going to use Doom 3 as a benchmark for my PC as well.
