Japanese PSone

Post by ktg »

Anybody have any idea where I can buy a Japanese PSone? (the newer and smaller version)

I've checked Play-Asia, Japangamestock, and ncsx, and none of them have ANY PSXs for sale.

I'm dying to play Gradius Gaiden. Please help me!

Amazon.co.jp might be worth a try ->
http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-langu ... e=en%5FJP".

Amazon themselves wont ship outside of Japan but you can always try getting in touch with the traders in the amazon market place to see if they will. Click on the 'See all buying options' button, then click on one of the products, then click 'contact this seller'.

Failing that you can also get Gradius Gaiden on the Gradius Collection for PSP. I actualy find the small screen and thumb stick control dont detract too much from the experience, all though long playing sessions do get uncomfortable.

At this point eBay is likely your best option. Already over a year ago Play-Asia told me that they can no longer get new ones. I found a great one on eBay, but it took a while to find just the right thing. You might also try the trading forum here.

If you have an usa PSOne and some soldering skills you could always buy an internal mod chip.

I just want the newer version so, hopefully, it won't have the same problems the originals had. I don't expect to get a new one. My problem is looking through these sites they have just about every system ever made. Why no PSXs? I mean NONE! Anyone have any idea why?

They are no longer being made. Sony wants you to buy a PS2 or PS3.

buy one off yahoo (or get a mate with an account to do it) they cost peanuts there.. and youll get a pile of games to go with it.

I have a few chipped PS1's lying around- you can pick them up for next to nothing at car boot sales.
As far as i know they are just as good as having a japanese or american PS1- not had any problems loading and playing games.

a chipped ps1 will play imports just fine. They're fairly easy to chip, too.
