I've gotta' get one of these, part 674
Here's another one of those portableized consoles that seem to be showing up a lot these days. The interesting part of this one is that he was able to take one of those little 6-game Genesis things that are showing up in stores these days and managed to wire a cartridge slot into it to allow it to function as a normal Genesis. The result is the Exodus. I've got a Nomad here, but this one looks to have a nicer screen (it uses one of the PSOne LCDs), uses less batteries, and seems to be a nicer form factor overall. I don't want to know what he'd charge for one of these though...
Damn, that's cool... I tried portablising a Genesis once, but I don't have the equipment to make fancy stuff like this guy. You can actually see it in one of the photos I put up on the Shmups Picture Day topic, but it's an ugly huge beast and it doesn't even have its own contained power source... I'm kind of working on making my own PCE-LT from a CoreGrafx right now too...

But the fact that it's possible to hook up a cartridge slot to those TV game things has me very interested, I might try it out sometime too.

onlyproblem was i couldn't figure out a decent way to power the damn thing so it was still shackled to a powercord.

That's really cool, magnum opus! But it looks really heavy! Does it kill your neck and knees? But it's a great idea (and a great photo, now THAT's ghetto!)
Vexorg: The directional controls (and the rest of the buttons for that matter) really suck, they're like these continuous mushy springs, so they don't click at all. Once I saw the ones benheck used, I knew I should have gone for those instead (there was actually one already inside the controller I hacked up). Add that to the fact that I was too excited to actually measure the hole alignment properly.... I just plug in a regular controller whenever I use it now.
