this is great

with a bit more work, it could be the end all of all shmup sites

that Psikyo section could use some work as well, but I'm not complaining

at all

thanks!

Very nice! But with the Mushi system it would be nice if you explained the difference between A tapping and C tapping in Maniac and Ultra modes. The system requires both slow A tapping and fast C tapping for optimal scoring. Review my strategy thread here for more details.

Also, I noticed an error in the Mushi versions page:

"High scores for Maniac mode are saved to the last place in the Ultra mode table"

The high Maniac score is actually saved to the 1st place Ultra mode slot, not the last place.

I think he stated he didn't want to go too far into the strategies. Seriously, where would you stop? It's more to showcase the hardware, ads, kit contents, and very lightly explain WTF is going on inside the game.

Yeah, but the whole scoring system is based around A and C tapping. A simple explanation would suffice. For example:

"tap A slowly on large enemies such as midbosses to raise the overall counter faster than by just holding A or C. Each time you tap A the values of the laser counters are added to the overall counter. The laser counters continue to increase as you do this.

Tap C as fast as you can once the laser counters are high enough to give a benefit (normally over 500 each). This enables the "skyrocket" effect, which adds the laser counter values to the overall counter very quickly (much faster than A tapping), however the laser counter values rapidly reduce in the process."

That's really the whole scoring system in a nutshell. Anyway, I realise that may be too in-depth for the scope of the site. I guess it's up to rtw whether or not he wants to include it.

Thanks for the nice comments :D

Yes R5 is revision 5

Ketsui is broken on IE6, there is a certain %tag which gets inserted now and then. I will correct it later today. Let me know if there are other pages. I work in Firefox most of my life.

I will correct the Mushi table placement error as well.

I have no problem adding your comment TWE but where would be a good place to put it, in a box of it's own or below the text in the Manic/Ultra box ?
Please advice.

Am I right in assuming that this tapping technique works for both Maniac & Ultra ?

Well I suppose you could just slap it in the main body text in a place that made sense. But if it sounds too out of place, maybe you could add a footnote about it below in a box of its own? It's up to you.

Yes. Maniac and Ultra are exactly the same in regards to scoring system.

A small note on scans and general help.

I have nearly all the necessary scans for Ibara already so I consider Ibara
covered.

I will put together a detailed list of what I have and for what games
so that you can see exactly what is needed. Hopefully I can do this
later tonight after the other fixes.

The link to this page will be posted here.

Fixed :D

. Ketsui in IE
. Maniac saved in Ultra table
. Added "tapping" to the System part.

Please let me know ASAP if there are any other discrepancies.

Excellent, make sure nothing is cropped or cut off!

Anyone have an Ibara guide lying around ? ship selection, scoring techniques that sort of thing ? How to use and launch the hadou ?
