Heavenly Sword, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted : Drake's Fortune, TimeShift, and maybe Stranglehold and Folklore.

Warhawk maybe...

I was really hoping for an arcadey flight sim but instead it's looking more and more like Tribes.

These are the ones I'm playing and am happy with:

(out of five stars)

Resistance ****
Motorstorm ****
Blast Factor ****
Mortal Kombat II online **** (would be five stars, if the buttons were configurable)

These ones are OK:

Super Rub 'A' Dub ***
Ridge Racer 7 ***

These are disappointments:

Armored Core 4 **½
Flow **½
Genji - Days of the Blade **
Gran Turismo HD concept *
Gripshift *
Lemmings *
Full Auto 2 *

Thoughts on some unreleased games:

Super Stardust HD - a must
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - great
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - promising
Lair - mildly amusing, sceptical of the gameplay
Warhawk - looks crappy
Calling All Cars - fugly, but could be fun

Anyone played Sonic the Hedgehog? The trailer looked good but an ominous silence surrounds this game...

IGN says Sonic is a broken game, and most other game review sites seem to say the same. That's a shame, I was kinda excited about it :(

oh and Lair sounds cool dude, hadn't heard about it before!

I'm considering buying a PS3 for Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I've been playing Black again and that game is just so fucking good I don't want to have to wait for the next one on 360 for new content.
Feedback will set you free.

hopefully NG Sigma will be available for the 360 when I get around to buying one. Hopefully, the PS3 will have more worthy games available to warrant a purchase if NG Sigma stays exclusive.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is out in japan as of this week and is of coarse region free with all the language options you could ask for.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I've had my BETA review copy for five days now, and I just can't get over how amazing LittleBigPlanet is. I was expecting a lot, and it far exceeded my expectations.

Worth buying a PS3 for. Beautiful, funny, silly, charming, level design to rival Mario Galaxy, filled with character and more tricks up its sleeve than a master magician!

LBP is pretty much the only thing that interests me this gen, is the game as articulate as the journalists say?
Hearing about being able to recreate Seven Force and other stuff sounds pretty damn good, also what is the gameplay like? Is it pretty much just a platformer or can you include run and gun elements and other styles of gameplay?

For the people sold on Ninja Gaiden Sigma, what's so good about it? I thought it was basically a crummy port of Ninja Gaiden Black? Itagaki (obviously) didn't have many good things to say about it either...

Thirded and the ps1 library. Upscaled ps1 games look razor sharp in 1080p.
ps2 games without 480p modes will look smudgy whatever resolution you decide.
ps2 games with 480p modes can be played on 480p native and look great.

I just finished the main storyline in Disgaea 3 and thought it was great. Obviously doesn’t showcase the hardware that well but the first attack I did punched a monster into outer-space and triple-suplexed him onto a desk. I got over it.

Sigma is missing a few things but adds a lot more and graphically is just as good, if not better, than NG2 (though that doesn’t say much). Of course Tomonobu Itagaki didn’t endorse it...

Edit: No mention of MGS4 in this thread (I realise it's rather old). If every game was like it I might have issue, but it was awesome from start to finish.

Playing PC-tailered first-person shooters on a console is a sin.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

If I had a ps3 I'd get wipeout HD. Coming out on psn on sept 25th (in 3 days) for $20. But then I'm a wipeout fan.

Got the console last month. So far I've beat MGS4 (excellent), Ratchet+Clank:TOD(fun) and I'm now playing Uncharted, (not bad at all). I have Resistance, too, but I haven't it played it much yet.

Just waiting for Wipeout HD... also, Valkyria Chronicles coming out in November, looks like it's going to be awesome. Locoroco Cocoreccho was kind of fun for a while.

Aside from LittleBigPlanet, I've really enjoyed:

Heavenly Sword
The Last Guy
LocoRoco Cocoreccho
Echochrome
MGS4
Some GTA game
Wipeout HD
Skate
Uncharted

And I just loved Ratchet and Clank TOD, plus the new PSN one is a good laugh while it lasts.

Oh and Pure is a pleasant surprise - I preferred it to Motorstorm.

Oh - and while I only played maybe 10 minutes at a work event, I nervously suggest Sonic Unleashed actually seemed like a decent 3D Sonic game. I'd love to be right, but I'm still hesitant about expecting much. Loved what I played though.
