The version showcased for this video is the v2.1 Fabtek single-board. This one has all 17 fighters available for selection. Being the US version, it also has the loop.
I take the Raiden mk-II for a spin once again. I go to dangerous extremes to collect the bonuses like the Micluses in the Violet Head stage, as well as the Quick Shot on the small train on the left side racing up the screen before the giant train itself begins to move. I died a cheap death in stage 6 when a damn sniper tank blindsided me. This also broke my 100K medal run. I lost about 4 million points from that cheap death. I make it all the way to stage 2-1 and got my ass handed to me by the high-speed return fire bullets. Even Micluses have return fire bullets!
My chief complaint about Raiden Fighters 2 and especially Raiden Fighters Jet is how unbalanced the games are. These games are balanced around the high-tier fighters such as the Judge Spear, Ixion, and their Slaves. It is far easier to collect bonuses and attain the highest scores as these fighters. In Raiden Fighters Jet, many of the outrageous chains are possible only by the Slave. Low-tier fighters in RFJ lack the ability to take advantage of all of the scoring opportunities.
Needless to say, I enjoy playing as the low-tier fighters in the Raiden Fighters series. It gives me a great challenge.
