What the heck's that circular-shaped "projection" that he uses to damage the enemies with? Is that the ship's bomb or something?

Dang, now I REALLY want to get this one for my DC!

As far as I know, there's two ways to build up combos: missles and the shield. In the order field the shield is rather small and you can only missle damagable parts of the boss. In the chaos field, the shield becomes much larger and your missles target enemy bullets. The missles and your sword can clear all bullets except the pink pointy ones.

Though I could be wrong, just stuff I've gathered from watching vids. I'm also considering ordering this at some point.
