seimitsu mounting plate woes

Ok... I now have in my possession, both types of seimitsu mounting plates (the S and the flat one)... but NEITHER will fit in my new astro!!! am I missing something here? sanwas fit just fine with the S mounting plate and I was hoping the flat plates would solve the current issue, but I'm stumped.

Do you have the original New Astro control panel or a reproduction? Depending on your answer I've either overcome this problem or am about to face it myself...

original... the sanwa S mounts work like a charm, but neither seimitsu mount seems to do the trick

That works out well. As luck would have it my original control panel is fitted with seimitsu sticks and is currently removed from my cabinet (I just installed a repro). When I get home from work I'll post pictures and hopefully they'll help you sort this out.

The S-plate that comes with LS-32-01 is not like the original S on LS-32. Center bolt spacing is 85mm as opposed to 100mm.

... I can't seem to track down the plates, and I really don't want to have to order another set of sticks just to pull the mounts off. hmmmmm

I can't say I know too much about this, but might it be possible to use the Sanwa plates on the Seimitsu's? Worst case you can always drill extra holes in the larger plates....kindofa pain but def cheaper than ordering a whole new set of sticks.
