Ideally commercial, but if you're working on a home-brew product or have recently completed one I'd love to here from you.

Block and Ring at the moment. Yes will finish them. These games are both my first projects in OpenGL and will be released as freeware upon completion. Games only cost me time to make so the player should only have to spend time to play. 8)

No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Isn't Play-Asia working on a shmup? Or publishing one that's in the works or something?

I'm too lazy to find links to prove my own rumors, but I swear I heard it somewhere.

I'm working on a shooter with some friends of mine (I'm doing the graphics). Never done shmup sprites or backgrounds before, so it's all new to me.

I've been studying the spriting tutorials like a madman.

I'd certainly be interested in hearing about any projects.

but what exactly are you looking for?

I am really working in a shmup, and have developed another one in the past. (Not to mention one I made for the MSX, and a couple made for the Amiga)

If you are looking for western home brew shmups, you might want to check: http://www.shmup-dev.com/forum/

Go to Site map and check out the top entries of each competition. (Auto Fire 2k7, Dragon Shmup, HSWB)

HSWB 5th place, Vezgard, is by me.... just by the way. :P :P

There is also a new development compo officially starting on 1st June. Anyone from here joining?

It might be one of those:
Theme Brainstorming Compo #4

Or something along these lines. So yeah, chances are good you can make a fun game and don't get too much restrictions. I am already in a team and pretty excited about the compo. :)

I try to cover most projects I hear about, though with a few exceptions they're indie or homebrew. Not sure if this is useful, but it's certainly a resource for people to "find out more".

I'm working on several, on and off. I need to get back into NES Zanac, but, boy, that game is kicking my butt all over the place! I love Compile, and, other then Guardian Legends, this has to be their toughest shmup. There's not even any rapid fire!

Also, Famicom InsectorX-incredible port from the arcade, much more accurate then even the Genesis port!

Famicom Super Xevious, and Gunnac. The former is a lot harder, but both are great fun.
