Yeah, I'm trying to decide on whether or not to purchase ($56.99 on amazon) Senke no Ronde (lol.."Wartech"). Anybody think I need to order online asap- will it be hard to get ahold of (price spike?). I was really looking forward to it, but I'm having problems justifying the purchase.. anybody have opinions on this? : )

The game is coming out today! How to judge rarity on something new ?

If you are want the game for playing then pick it up. That is all there are to it. :?

There would only be a price spike if Ubisoft made only a relative small production run...and the copies disappear quickly. That would leave the game in the hands of eBay sellers and buyers willing to pay large amounts of cash for games to justify to themselves how "hardcore" they are. However, this isn't really the sort of game which would appeal to the Xbox masses...or Americans in general really. I'd expect the price to shortly drop. However, like Sonic said, the game is new this week...if you want the game, buy the game. If you can't justify the purchase in your own mind, then don't buy it.

Ubisoft usually never publish games in low quantity. Most Ubi publish games are not very hard to find. Most stores can stock their release if they want to. Obviously, not every store will be stocking this one cuz it's not a known game series like Splinter Cell or Prince of Persia.

lol..cool- that answers my question. Yeah, I want the game, but $59- not quite that much (unless it'll be in the hands of the ebay people you guys mentioned- then of course 59 seems better than Radiant Silvergun-ish prices ;). Thanks all.

I was going to hold out on a purchase too since I own the J-version, but I dont want to be out in the cold if it doesn't have a big print run.

In that case, why not support the relatively rare (nowdays) console USA shmup title such as Wartech to nuzzle next to your JPN 360 copy of Senko No Ronde? (I'm sure it wouldn't mind some "extra" company...) ^_~

Its still amazes me that Senko No Ronde has made it to the US. Whether it was the countless fanboys on the net demanding it or what its pretty damn awesome. Cheers to Ubisoft.

ditto : ) It still feels wierd- not that I'm complaining at all. I decided to break down and buy it- I convinced myself it was so 'they'd do it more often :)

My only theory is that they were able to pick up the distribution rights for next to nothing...because, yeah, this is a very niche game(albeit a very sweet game), and the fact they left all the voices in Japanese seems to me like they knew it was going to be a niche title..perhaps thats why they decided to retail it for 59 since a few sales at that price might have justified the price tag?

I am sincerely hoping this game catches on as a "cult" game for the 360, as this is seriously the first game that I am excited about playing online versus against other players. I had a relatively lag free experience playing a Japanese player last night with 1 red bar for the connection speed.(It chugged at the player select and at the beginning of the round, but that was it).

What? Am i living in some alternate dimention where odin sphere is announced in europe and where the DS actually gets games there?

April is over guys.

G.Rev released a patch on May 10 which was primarily to improve the netcode and add more online features. I'm surprised myself at how smooth everything is too.

I hope this game is still plentiful by the time I have the cash to get a 360, but I doubt it.

Was there a thread anywhere that discussed this game in any depth? I've done a lot of searching and can't find anything where people post impressions and/or strategies. Would be great to hear from some players so that I can set up some Live matches. You know you want to beat me :)

Did you check the Strategy Board Index under Senko no Ronde?
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.
