Avoid the MAS Systems produced Super Nova Supergun!

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

For durias,

The Superguns made by Mas Systems are a piece of shit! Take my advice and buy a better made Supergun elsewhere. Buy a Supergun from D-Lite or Segasonicfan (a fellow shmupper here on the forum), they make some quality Superguns for interested folks like you. Don't get ripped off with your hard-earned $$$ and by supporting such scummy folks by the likes of MAS Systems. Durias, you deserve a high quality Supergun -- the old adage rings true here: "You get what you pay for"..... ^_~

More "bad news" about that shitty Mas Systems produced Super Nova Supergun:

1.) It doesn't have a built-in cooling fan and does get quite hot with it turned on...

2.) Shoddy workmanship and custom service sucks big time...

3.) Very short Jamma harness -- would be better to get such a Supergun with a long snaking Jamma loom harness (so that one has easy access to his or her arcade Jamma PCBs)...

Well, i bought my super nova several years ago. No built-in cooling indeed but this was never a problem when using it with an snk neo-geo mv-1c.

It wasn't so easy to order my unit, i had to call and then fax them my order. Email mostly go unanswered.

I don't think it's really a shoddy unit. I've seen units going for twice the price of a super nova but they didn't seem that much better. My unit seems pretty well built.

I am happy with my super nova.

PC Engine Fan XI : could you give links to websites where to buy better super gun units ?

Superguns are nice, but regardless on who builds it, not all PCBs will work 100% on them.

If you still want one though I suggest you start off getting into Neo Geo MVS scene or Atomiswave.

The best way is just to get a cab though. ;)
